Simple, he wanted what he saw as a challenge

Think I saw an interview with him where he said he didn't want to manage a team at the top or what he saw as an almost finished article

Correct me if I'm wrong
----------------------------------------------------------------------
yep saw a sleeping giant and give it a swift kick up the arrrse and woke it up
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Sleeping giant?

Maybe United can be called a sleeping giantLiverpool
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Liverpool were definitely a sleeping giant.

Spurs more of a feisty midget.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Clearly the subject of this article is Klopp and Liverpool?
Liverpool are the midget who think it's a giant...Well at least their mega deluded fans think so
----------------------------------------------------------------------
18 league titles, 5 European cups.

That's not a midget, son.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Anything over 10 years old, ie a generation ago, doesn't count

Only 5 years ago Liverpool were mid-table "sleeping" midgets
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Spurs best period in over half a century and they've won nothing. Weve had a shocking 30 years and still won a lot more.

So if that makes us a midget what the hell are Spurs?

Ah that's right, insignificant.

Wait, so Liverpool were rewarded for being shiiit? How's that fair
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Life isn't fair, just in case you hadn't noticed.

United were goddam AWFUL when SAF became manager. And it took him 7 years to lift his first title when his only real competitors were Leeds, Villa & Arsenal. What was "fair" about that?

What was "fair" about Mourinho joining Chelsea in 2004 and allowed to spend as much as he did?

Don't really know what point you're trying to make wahl (unsurprisingly), but your post REEKS of jealousy
----------------------------------------------------------------------
My point is that Liverpool were rescued by Klopp when they didn't deserve it. The way football works is that the top teams get the best players, the best managers, the best fans etc. Klopp was too good for Liverpool at the time he took over. You didn't deserve a manager of his quality. It would be like if Guardiola decided to take over West Ham and won the league with them. Wouldn't you wonder what West Ham did to deserve such luck?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yes, so a top manager went to a top club in an environment he wanted to work in. They had things in place at Liverpool and Klopp knew he could develop them into what they currently are at the moment, one of the best sides in Europe.

And the best teams get the best players, managers and fans.Man United are one of the better teams in the PL currently, but probably have one of the worst managers imo. West Ham have a very good manager who could manage at the top, but he remains at West Ham in mid table. Crystal Palace aren't a top team but have some of the best fans in the league and the list goes on.

You don't get "luck" when appointing a manager. The process of appointing a manager has no luck involved at all, the club sells themselves to the manager whereas the manager proposes his ideas and what he would like to do with the club and what his plan would be. That's not lucky and let's be honest, with a club the size of Liverpool's, I don't think it would be that difficult to sell the quality of the club to most managers in the world.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Liverpool had Rodgers, Dalglish and Hodgson before Klopp. That was your level. Klopp took a step down to join Liverpool and you were lucky he did that.

I would disagree personally.

He literally chose Liverpool because of the fans and pedigree of the club.

Having sh!t fans and a lot of money isn't enough for him.

Yeah he thinks the Liverpool fans are so great he blasted you as early as his second home match

Not often Iagree with you but yes pretty much and it's worked. There is a great relationship, the fans took what he said on board and we now have nights that clubs like Chelsea can only dream of.

Klopp himself described Liverpool as "not a normal club, but a special one" in his 1st press conference. His own words said that "this was the perfect next step for me to be here". Does that sound lucky to you?

Going by your logic, Chelsea finished 10th that year (if you have decided to support Chelsea and not whoever Mourinho manages), appointed Conte as manager and then won the league the next season. Some lucky break!

You can spin as much mental gymnastics as you like Daniel, but he basically called you out for being a plastic sing when your winning fanbase after his second home game.

Yeah I suspect he doesn't think that about us. He doesn't strike me as a guy who would appreciate manager out posters at their first game though.

If he doesn't he did a very good job pretending otherwise. Maybe acting's his back up plan if he ever has a Kenny esque fall from grace...

Actually Klopp said that the team has to play such that the fans stay until after the whistle for.

The team has definitely done that with Klopp at the helm. Been the hardest to beat, a consecutive CL final, the crowd responds to create nights like v Barca second leg.

Anyone that eschews fans and team are not symbiotic doesn't know a thing about football. They both spur each other on.

Everytime someone criticises Liverpool in any way shape or form you kick off and act like a schoolchild. Like last year when i said if we catch anyone for 4th it would be Liverpool you waded in all upset and offended even when i explained why. And there was that other time you got all het up because i pointed out Klopp spent most of his last Dortmund season fighting the drop.

I thought the humiliation you received on TalkSport would have humbled you a bit Daniel but it's made you even more 'siege mentality' esque by the looks of it.

Well i wasn't because i said then i didn't think we were getting 4th, i said Liverpool would have been the team we caught if any and alas you were the team we took to the last day. So technically i was right.

Lack of pressure to deliver the biggest prizes. The fans as well for sure. He obviously knows they are the set of fans most susceptible to the cult of personality. Which than goes back to my first point.
