If it wasn't for the lack of natural physical intensity now in the players, you'd probably sign most of them for the 1st team. Maybe not David May though.
I'd certainly promote Nicky Butt right now from Academy Boss to 1st team player.
Becks should come back for pre-season and just do 2 week cross training class for the squad

Well Beckham certainly was. Neville was pretty average; but in a good reliable way as a passer. Beckham was incredible.

All getting caught up in our emotions here, but if the stamina and legs were still there, then yeh, sign em up. but as you know those 2 things are the first to go, father time is a biitch.
Case in point, Juan Mata, lovely player, but his legs have gone.

Neville and Beckham in different ways - because, you know, they played in different positions that required different disciplines - made an equal contribution to the squad, and in the games they played in.
Beckham was replaced, Neville wasn't, that's how important he was.
But, hey ho, slating Neville is a dumb ass exercise for some.

I disagree on Neville. His abilities as an overlapping full back who would put in a good cross are often overlooked. Becks was fantastic and his good looks and celebrity see his footballing talent regularly get downplayed
