Hazard is Chelsea's only hope now Kante is out. Obviously he is by far the best player on the pitch, but Arsenal will have far more motivation. Would expect them to win.

Not sure how much the CL place will affect either side. It is a major final, and I don't think that already having a CL place will lead to Chelsea players being more relaxed.

Seems that so many players are going into the final knowing it is their last game for their club - or in Cechs case last game of his career.

Not sure about that. For us it's far more of a must win, missing out on the CL is hamstringing us badly financially and leave us zero hope of major improvement for another season.

The Europa itself is of less significance, yes it's a trophy but not a particularly memorable one unless you're a far smaller profile club

A cup final is always a must win though. Really don't think the players will go out there thinking "CL place". They will be wanting to win the Europa League.

Also disagree with the second part. It will be very memorable if we win it. If we were Real or Barca I could accept your view - but Arsenal have won 2 European trophies in our history.

Europa is not a bad trophy to win. It is only behind the League and champions league in my opinion.

I'm pretty sure in the UEFA cup final in 2000 we absolutely destroyed Galatasaray but it was one of those days where we just couldn't score.

All the pressure is on Arsenal.
Despite the idiotic travel and ticket allocation I
think Arsenal may have a lot more local fans who end up with tickets plus those who travel from nearby countries
being members of various overseas Arsenal supporters clubs.
Unless Chelsea also have a large number of fans in those areas but I think Arsenal would have more.
This would turn it into almost a home game if true increasing the pressure

Not my recollection of it. Remember a pretty dire game, where Gala came closest to scoring in all honesty.

Would be good to have 5 teams in the CL next year

The Europa is very different to say the cup winners cup because the Champions League is also very different. The Champions League isn't the old European Cup, it's far more easy to qualify for now.

The Europa is the cup you drop into by failing in the CL.

Europa League champions don't even stay in the competition to defend their own crown.

While it would be great to win it's almost as important to qualify for the CL, long term possibly far more important given our financial situation.

We need to overcome one handicap: We have lost our last three European ties against English opponents.

That 2000 final was a painful watch, thought it was going to be a stroll after Chelsea had beaten them 5-0 in Turkey not that long before.

Arsenal to win this 2-1 I reckon.
