A question to Liverpool and City fans

I mean City did win the treble and the one trophy we desperately want, but it’s hard to swap a CL win for anything tbh

funny but i think pool fans would swap and city fans would swap, pool want the PL and city want the CL

I'd trade tonight for the league title. Need to get that monkey off our back

Yeah it's probably the hardest trophy to win in world football. However you guys really could do with a league win too.

City did the English treble though, that's pretty special and they will still be in with a good chance of winning the CL in the near future it looks like. I think they can cope with waiting a bit longer to win the CL, they only started winning things a few years ago anyway

Of course, but it is nice to have 6 now, less only to milan and Madrid, and twice as many as any other English side.

Not sure many City fans would swop the treble for the CL but I am sure the management of both clubs would swop. The fans always want the PL, it is the hardest to win, playing everyone twice is the true test of a team. The cups for City have been a fantastic bonus but retaining the PL is the one that matters. But the owners I am sure see it differently, at both clubs.

I wouldn't swap, domestic treble and retaining the title. Maybe if it was a season like 2014.

I would swap but I'm over the moon anyways

I asked the question to my kids. They said they wanted the CL more. I'm not sure my self.

Definitely not. I might say similar if I was a Liverpool fan though, both have been able to watch incredible football this year.

Ultimately, a trophy really doesn’t mean that much unless you’re bothered about how you compare to others. I’ve never been fussed about that (admittedly because it’s not something as a city fan I’ve had as an expectation for most of it!). It’s more about do I enjoy the hours I spend week in week out watching my team and I have done that his season as much as I ever have done before.

The stress has been significantly higher too though, so
It’s all swings and roundabouts.

missed the game tonight, from what I can tell, Pool got a lucky/poor decision for the 50th time this season and lucked their way to another CL.

This is gonna be a long summer what with BBC whanking them off every 5 mins.

Was desperate for the league but think we can compete for it again. Earlier in season when it was all exciting would have said league over CL. But now number 6 nah swap that for nothing it’s the main prize in football..

i don't think many pool fans would swap # 6 cl for the pl.
they already have 18 and # 19 probably is a year or two away.

City fans generally pretty ambivalent about the CL. Difference between us and pool is that we tried to win everything, they concentrated on 2 competitions and we won one of them!

The way I see it is they won the battle but we won the war..

Beating Watford 6-0 in an FA Cup final is nothing..

Beating Barcelona 4-0 when 3-0 on aggregate thats something. And if City progressed to the final would they have won all their remaining games with European football to contend with...

they may be Champions of England but two CL finals in a row current holders we are the best team in Europe right now

But not the best team in England, clearly.

.........

Open to interpretation the best team in England got a weeks break between games end of season because the best team in England never got to the CL final..

But less breaks during the season as they did get to the LC and FA Cup finals!

I’d take City’s treble any day over a CL.

Ive always said CL personally, it sets Liverpool apart and is the biggest prize in club football.

Some great loints raised on the thread though. The Prem is harder to win which is why City have won four of the last seven and never, ever, won the European Cup.

We've won the league more time than any team but I'd never swap a domestic treble for the CL. The league alone yes but not a treble...

City lucked out with their cup draws.

We got Chelsea in one and Wolves away in the other. Got lucky with Spurs as well, but flopped.
