Bye.

Shame, he had a good name.

10 starts and 4 sub appearances in the league, plus a solid run through the Europa group stages. Kept himself fit as a horse and could always be relied on to fill out a match-day squad.

Hardly a bit-part player as the article suggests.

Thanks for the service Stephan.

No surprises there, but glad to see it more or less confirmed. More space on the wage bill freed up

He was atrocious for you lot. Even when watching an Arsenal game with Arsenal supporting friends I’d be screaming at him.

So good that AMN, whose best position is definitely NOT as a RB / RWB, was chosen over him.

Safe to say "bit part".

Even Cpl Jenks and Mustafi got played ahead of him...

That's saying something!

He was poor to average - fact. Maybe had 1 decent-ish game and made 1 goal line clearance in a Europa League group game.

You're all missing the main point here anyway. He should have never been signed. Signing expired players that are deemed to be too poor to play for clubs that we should be competing with (In Europe at least in the case of Juventus). If he's not good enough ti play for Juventus anymore then he should certainly not be good enough to play for us. Or at keast - that's how it should be, that's how it would be had our standards not fallen so much in recent times.

We should not become a retirement home for the garbage of clubs we have beaten in the Champions League in previous years (quite spectacularly as well when we beat Juventus).

Another suspect signing at Arsenal. Wish him well for his future.

Sure he tried his best, just not quite good enough. Good luck to him.

I'm not sure we are missing the point. Should have / would have / could have is irrelevant in this case. He WAS signed. So with that being the case and with him being ineffectual, we can be happy he's moving on.

What's wrong with that?

The lesson is not whether he should have been signed. It's how we can ensure we don't repeat this with a future signing.

I mean, it's pointless discussing him and what he contributed because he should have never been signed and that was the point being missed. Let's stop reminding ourselves of the embarrassing signing and hope it's the last time this type of thing happens.

We all know in reality it was very little. He tried hard, i'll give him that but he also talked a lot of s/-/it when he arrived, claiming that he had the body of a 25 year old and such.

Literally only Gillespie Road discussed his "contributions". The only other conversations are with regards the slot created for a better player and the savings to the wage bill.

Surely that's appropriate given where we want / are hoping to go?

Nobody mentioned that he should never have been signed, hence the point was well and truly missed until I enlightened you

Over the course of the season, it's been mentioned several times. So there's no point doing so now he's leaving. But sure, you raised it, you win.

Best crosser of the ball we had on the right side.
I guess it's back to Ainsley hitting to first defender or Bellerin passing it backwards.

Maitland-Niles crosses much better than Lichtsteiner.
