Why we are where we are

SAF wanted a long term appointment, hence the long contract.

...

It went SAF's decision. It was hapless Ed's.

Chelsea have Prems 3rd highest wage bill and would have easily matched Rooneys money.

....

Prove it.

Pogba hasn't been a waste of money.

.....

Yes he has.

And yet all those clubs are better ran than ours. Which is why they are all in the CL and we are not.

All you have done is spent twenty minutes finding scandal. That was a waste of time because from the football side of things they are all better ran than us.

That was not the case until Ed was given the wheel.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Better ran, apart from all the scandal. 🤣

Scandal is scandal. They are all football clubs that have a better direction as to where they want to go than us.

That is because they all have people in positions who know and understand football.

Ed doesn't. If he did he would never have gone any where near Sanchez for 300 K plus per week.

"They are all football clubs that have a better direction as to where they want to go than us"

What absolute nonsense. They want to win and win well if they can, just as United do.

And these people you think know and understand football are guilty of tax fraud, inflating sponsorships to circumvent FPP, match fixing, supporting racist players and racially profiling players.

When you look at that, f the worst you can throw at Ed is that he agrees a package worth £60m all in for one of the leagues best players at the request of his manager, then I can live with that.

Yet those are the facts. All have won their respective leagues due to the planning behind the scenes.

The only club out of your list that comes close to being as badly ran as ours is Real.

Do you actually think giving Moyes a six year contract was a good plan. Or giving Rooney ( someone SAF had already identified as being in decline) a 5 and 1/2 year 250K contract was a good plan.

Or hiring three managers with totaly different styles of play a good plan.

Do you think having no steady continuation to the senior team from the U23's and U18's with no specific style of play is a good plan.

Do you think ignoring your scouts on young takent like Mbape is a good plan?

Do you think that being found to be incompetent at this level and not hiring a DoF or a Technical Director to oversee the link between the manager and CEO is a good plan?

If by "Better direction as to where they want to go" you mean they want to win, then thats no different to what United, or any other club want. To suggest otherwise is ridiculous.

Yes they have all won their leagues, but they or their top execs have all cheated in some capacity. Are you honestly saying match fixing or lying to UEFA re sponsor deals or lowballing fees paid to save on tax is a better way of conducting business than Ed's plan (that has had to change for a number of reasons) ?

If you are then you are insane.

... ....

No that isn't it is it. All clubs want to win. It is the way they have set about winning.

City for just one small part teach their academy and youth teams how to play the Pep style so that if any of them get called upon they seemlessly fit in.

Bayern have a set up where they have a continuation of football no matter who they appoint as manager.

Juve have put into place a line up that is so strong through the middle they didn't miss Pogba on bit.

All through carefull planning.

Real Madrid, who are a $hit shower have already started their rebuilding.

Ed is still having a nap.

Moyes got a 6 year deal as the club wanted to appear confident in his appointment and that it would be a long term appointment. This appointment is very well known to have been heavily influenced by SAF.

Rooney was huge for us commercially, everyone knows this.

Moyes was SAF's man. Ed would have been mad to go against him at that stage. At least he had the bottle to sack him when it became apparent the job was too big for him.

LVG was the best available at the time. He was backed and sacked because the football was poor, he planned to retire soon anyway and Jose was available.

Jose's appointment made sense at the time given his record and the fact wed gone 3 seasons without a title and City were making huge strides.

You say no steady continuation from u23s to the first team but I cant think of many other top clubs that have as many graduate from youth sides to first team than us.

Face it, Ed isnt perfect but he has had a very difficult job to do following on from SAF and Gill and competing with the very strong City, Liverpool, PSG Juve and others.
