great article.
"I think that we will finally have a substantial net spend, and bring in some real quality. 8 out, 6 in is my gut feel."
exactly what i hope/want to happen
It's a crucial moment in the history of Tottenham Hotspur.
How does Levy ensure that reaching the CL final wasn't an anomaly. What sort of strategic decisions should be made?
For starters, the stadium is done and will ensure good income.
Pochettino - must be tied down to a long term and wealthy deal.
Transfers - He should be given a war chest. The CL revenue will be very good.
glad you had a good, safe time in Madrid
I hear United are interested in Salah

invest in players and gradually move the wage structure upwards to attract and retain a better quality of player, and yes, tie down Poch if he can. If he cant, then the recruitment of the next manager is obviously key. united have the clout to be able to afford to make poor manager choices and spend their way eventually back towards the top.... we simply don't.

I agree with everything you say but I can't help feeling disappointed even angry with the way the final went. The penalty where I am sure Mane kicked the ball intentionally at Sissoko's arm and then our pathetic attempt to get back in the game. Up to the 60th minute we had 2 attempts on goal and none on target. I will get over it but it doesn't help when the likes of Kane and All I keep saying we will learn from this. Why haven't they learnt from all the other major defeats.
Good Post Mate... Glad you enjoyed Madrid. The reason for so much concern among us is that for first time in a while we are really hoping Levy will step up to the plate and put football first. I think he have all become too used to Poch & players outperforming given the financial constraints placed upon them..... We all realize that Levy has now gone to that well one too many times. Its time to find out what kind of ownership/chairman we really have. We have every right to have high hopes given the performance to date on the field. Either Levy will prove to be the deal maker he thinks he is, whether he really appreciates Poch & has moved with the times to an extent whether he will really back him OR...... He might finally be honest about the stadium cost, future financing, impact on the playing staff. I think he owes Poch, the team & the fans something..... What he delivers will tell us everything .... time for excuses from the club is over

All valid points Chronic.
Good to see a level headed assessment, Chronic, unlike some of our fans here who go on a meltdown very quickly
Excellent article
I think levy knows all it this too and will invest accordingly this summer.
He is not stupid, he knows we have to spend to keep growing and generating the champions league revenue.
The wage structure is already being adjusted with Kane, Alli and Son signing big deals last year. I am sure the transfers will be sorted this summer too.

I also got back last night - difficult getting up this morning for work
It has been a difficult season, no doubt. With such a limited squad, teams work us out pretty quick and we don't have a plan B (except for Ajax away when Llorente came on and went route one).
The early goals have been so frustrating especially in the CL. So many games where we simply haven't turned up for the first half either. Then have to come out second half all guns blazing to rescue the game. Poch has to take the blame for our slow starts...
So lucky to make top 4. The only reason we did was because Arsenal and United were terrible. It could quite easily have been an absolute disaster of a season.
We've been so slow in possession too. No one creating space, and no pace on the wings. SO SLOW AND PREDICTABLE. So many frustrating games this year with no one running at their defence - it never happens. We don't "scare" teams like we used to with Bale.
Serious money needs to be spent if we want challenge at the top. With it looking likely that we're losing a couple of key first teamers, we need to get deals done quickly and a lot of money needs to be spent to replace them. We also need to add a lot of quality on the bench too.
CL campaign was amazing though. To experience a final abroad in the sun was quality. A once in a lifetime event (most likely) and the memories will last a lifetime. Scousers were brilliant, every single one of them was sound. Our fans were quality too. Everyone respected the city and it was an amazing weekend drinking and singing in the Spanish sun

Good read
I've no doubt Spurs are in a great position im just not convinced Levy/Owners will do whats required to push on from here, i expect them to be content and stick to whats served them well, similar to Arsenal, especially with the stadium costs etc. I hope im wrong, i'd like to see them/Poch backed.

Good article chronic
You were in Madrid weren’t you. Where did you watch the game?
The fan park was great but it was s total joke that they weren’t allowed to show the game there. We ended up watching in some small cafe / bar which was about 70% Liverpool 30% Spurs fans.
Everywhere was so packed
Also I’m about to board my flight so might not be able to respond to anything....
