James fails the "if he joined Spurs or Liverpool" test. If he joined either of those teams would you be worried about him improving them or would you be laughing your a*ses off at them for wasting money on him.

From admittedly the little I have seen of him he looks a very good player. Don't think it's a bad move and there.is little risk involved.

He's been highly thought of in Welsh circles for a while. In fact quite a few were surprised that it was only Leeds going for him in January.
There's no guarantee of success of course but I think he is the type of player we need. Quick and direct to put teams on the back foot. I just hope that we play on the front foot next season as I think we've just been too easy to play against over the last few years as we don't make it uncomfortable enough for them from the off.

Only a moron would be laughing. You judge the player on how he performs. Not what club or league he has joined from. Alli and Robertson being 2 good recent examples.
Let's give the kid chance to play at least a few games for us before we start to judging him shall we.
I'm actually stunned by some of the negativity around this signing. As Diafol says, he is highly regarded within the Welsh circles, and for me at £18m its an absolute no-brainer........ skillful, unbelievable pace and direct ..... I'm actually excited by this signing tbh
