Ace, how you are feeling about Spurs and how frustrated you are is how the likes of me and Spurs have felt for 4/5 years now. I’m not even stressing over this window like I normally do because I know for a fact the way it’s going to go. I know 100% we will “try” for the likes of N’Dombele etc, but fail. It’s clear to see the guy is very interested in a move to us, the big problem is a guy named Daniel Levy stopping us from really pushing on.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Don, I’d say I was one of the more realistic Spurs fans around this gaff. I fully understand why the club has hardly spent a bean the last 5 years, or longer. I appreciate our financial situation, the limits imposed by the debt of off field growth. I don’t clamour for big name signings, and I get 100% that Poch has been hamstrung compared to his rivals yet still done an amazing job and I defend him tooth and nail against any would be critic and have done since the day he was appointed. I’m a pragmatist. I’m not a clueless ‘get yer wallet out Levy’ merchant like some...🤔

However, there have been a few times in Spurs recent history where there has been an opportunity to capitalise on a position of strength and we’ve blown it.

January 2012 always springs to mind. With a good signing of two we could have won the league. There was no outstanding candidate. We got Nelson and Saha and not only drifted away in the league but also missed out on CL football.

Anyway, now we have Arsenal in dire straits. Chelsea facing a transfer embargo. Utd with no CL football. We’ve just opened the doors to a state of the art ground, finished runner up in the CL, got top 4, announced record profits. We have an opportunity to crush our rivals and consolidate ourselves as a top 3 club and leave them to fight over the crumbs of 4th place. I know only too well the importance of destroying your rivals when the chance presents itself, if you want to succeed. I’ve hammered this point relentlessly the last few months, to the point where I now feel like a parrot. We need to be utterly ruthless.

This isn’t about years of Levy letting us down. I think he’s done a fine job when you look at where we are now. This is about us passing up an opportunity to take the next step, something I hate to stand by and see happen. Just go for the jugular Spurs, just once, for facks sake.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

He’s been doing this for years that’s my point. You think this is the first time we have potentially gone a summer and messed up ? This has been happening for years. It’s only now other supporters like yourself who are starting to finally realise and get fed up. I’m not a “spend loads of money Levy “ merchant. I’m a fan that wants to see us compete and win trophies. When I see our club win 1 measily league cup in over 20 years, I start to think maybe this module isn’t quiet working anymore and we need to start showing a bit of ambition.

Liverpool prime example, showed a bit of ambition last year and spend a load of money backing Klopp, now current European champions. Us, spent nothing and we are the ultimate losers. Forever the bridesmaid, never the bride. Now until we go out there and spend 70 mil on the likes of N’Dombele and start backing our bloody manager, we are going to continue to be forgers the bridesmaid. Some people are maybe content with top 4 every year and that’s it, well I’m not anymore. I want our manager backed for once and I want to win something.

We are better off with a motivated and committed Eriksen but not one that isn't.

It's the same with the argument earlier in the year about us being a better team without Kane.

We are better without and injured and returning Kane for sure but not the same with a healthy and sharp one.

For those saying we’d be better off without Eriksen, have just seen a stat that confirms in 277 games played for Spurs since he arrived he has scored 66 goals and made 80 assists.

Directly involved in 146 goals in 277 games.

I’d reiterate that if it’s at all feasible to get him on a new deal we should.

Agree, he is a quality player and would be a mistake to let him go. We just need to re-incentivise.

If we sold him to Utd or another prem team I would be fuming.

I'd be happy with Maddison but doubt this will happen or even if it's true. There must be a lot of very bored journalists out there with all this transfer inactivity.

He’ll be worth double in 3 years

He could be worth a top 4 spot, or another final.
