absolute not brainer.
dele, son, lucas, ziyech, bruno, kane as forward options.
Must be the Argentine connection.
Firstly, Lo Celso can and will be competition for Winks (amongst others). Those two CM positions can be rotated between Lo Celso, Ndombele and Winks. Then you have Sissoko, Wanyama and Dier as more defensive options too.
Then, the £70m tag is all media talk and asking price. If they're buying Fekir for £22m or whatever it's costing them then no way are they getting full asking price.
Lastly, if Pochettino says he wants Lo Celso then we should give him who he wants. Bruno and Ziyech both play in weaker leagues than where Lo Celso has been. No guarantee with any of them.
Is Lo Celso an attacking mid? He has a pretty good goalscoring record for his last season which suggests he must get into quite advanced positions.
The price for Lo Celso is crazy and that’s why he isn’t a Tottenham player right now.
I’m a fan of him tbh, see him a few times for PSG and liked him but at Betis pushing forward more he’s excelled imo
If he’s the player poch has picked then he’s who we should be after.

By competition for winks I meant a more defensive option - since wanyama and dier are both garbage. We need someone other than winks who can play as the deepest in a midfield 3 who is also good
Considering the sell on clause PSG have I wouldn't be shocked if betis are hoping for a price similar to what is being rumoured
I tend to agree that if lo celso is who poch wants then we should get him

He played as a 10, an 8 and as a second striker for them last season
Think we will Lo Celso for a similar price to Ndombele
Ndombele was a bit of a bargain price really.

It's only the Spanish clubs and PSG with ridiculous 9-figure transfers. Most of the other top players have gone for £50m-£70m and with Ndombele we are pretty much in the middle of that.
I wouldn't have been unhappy if we'd paid the £70m being quoted for Lo Celso. £15m cheaper is a decent deal.

"Bargain" price was strong. But a good deal.
In theory, Lo Celso would fit much better in a midfield 3 than Ziyech or Fernandes. I think if Eriksen were to stay, then he and Lo Celso could play in the same XI, whereas I think Eriksen, Ziyech and Fernandes would all be either/or, or alternatively one would have to play out of position.
Also, if Eriksen and Alderweireld both stay for the coming season at least, that has to go down as a huge victory for Spurs. Alderweireld can then leave for free next summer, when he's 31 and presumably will move onto somewhere like Italy or back to Ajax.
That would leave RB and CF as priority positions for improvements/backup, which would be fine. It'd be OK to finish this summer with two positions still slightly in need of reinforcing, whereas if Eriksen and Alderweireld left, that would mean FOUR positions in need of reinforcements.
Not entirely sure that post made much sense but hopefully you know what I mean
31 is not old. Keep him for longer if he continues playing well and has the desire to
My theory with Bruno and Ziyech is that if we play 4231
(2) we have Ndombele, Winks, Sissoko, Wanyama
(3) we have Dele, Son, Lucas, Lamela, Bruno, Ziyech
whereas just signing Lo celso for a big sum is a gamble for just one player possibly trying to cover 2 squad positions, CM and AM.
Lo celso doesn't take set pieces and have that many assists to his name to make up for the around 10-15 a season we get from eriksen
