Seems to have a decent eye for a one-touch pass or layoff so that might bode well for runs in behind from Lucas or Son... I do wonder if the Fernandes signing, and then looking at a striker like this, signify Mourinho wanting to move to a 433 with Son and Lucas coming off the flanks.
Hopefully, no room for Dele in the team though then

Well he ain't a midfielder, that's for sure. He could play as a withdrawn false 9, got the strength and touch to be a hold-up striker and he's got the technique and finishing to be a proper 9 too.
He just isn't good enough at passing to be an 8 or 10, for me.
Hes a player who is best behind the striker who can drive beyond the striker and make runs into the box. He doesnt work hard enough and gives the ball away way too much to play in a mid 3 which is a real shame. He really needs to buck his ideas up, attitude stinks

Yeah... I don't like players who only fit one specific system, or who force the system to be built around them. It just happens that those players are often the lazy fancy Dans too.

Still think it's funny that Wolves were able to get Ruben Neves and Diogo Jota in the Championship via Jorge Mendes, but Champions League Spurs, with all Mourinho's supposed pulling power, can only get a Benfica reject on loan.
I'm guessing the difference is how much each chairman was willing to spend.

It most certainly is the chairman's influence rather than the manager's. That should be abundantly clear by now for all of our supporters, even the deluded ones who blame Poch and refuse to slate Levy.

Spurs have also now been given the opportunity to sign Juventus midfielder Emre Can before the January transfer window closes.

The rumours this January are Ze Luis, Gedson, Emre Can, facking Benteke

Ziyech is yet proven in a big league. Would love him but need to hone in on better than Lamela/Lucas etc. Always cautious on Eredivisie signings. Look at how much better Tadic looks over there.

How many of our big record money signings have proved a success? Loldado, Lamela, Sanchez (still young though) Look at the state of Ndombele. Even Rebrov was a flop from back in the day. Spending big money on players is not always the answer especially for Spurs.
