Wahl football changes and managers have to adapt to keep up, Mourinho showed at United and his last stint at Chelsea that his football just isnt going to compete with the big guns in this league and most others.

Frankly I see him over in the US or at PSG for his next job.

Did you even read my article? Compare his last 6 years in management with any manager that isn't Pep Guardiola and see what conclusion you come to.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Just done it with Valverde, Zidane and Allegri and the results were not good.

Even worse if I make it five years. Worse still four. You get the picture.

Allegri managing in a one team League. Zidane and Valverde fair enough, although I wouldn't dream of saying Valverde is a better manager than Mourinho.

Let's do Simeone, Klopp and Pockets next please.

I did 6 years because that covers the full duration of his last two jobs at Chelsea and Manchester United which is what Fred specified in his comment. Keep up.

That's not what you said though

I'll do Klopp I guess.

2 league titles, 1 domestic cup and a CL.

I did 8 years because that covers his time at Dortmund and Liverpool.

His post didn’t make sense anyway as Mourinho won the league with Chelsea.

There’s a myth that Mourinho’s tactics are outdated, but that’s not something I’ve ever subscribed to.

Mourinho’s tactically always been a pretty overrated manager, it was his man management that was his best attribute. That’s something that’s gone now. He’s clearly not a happy person and is lacking the belief and conviction that made him such a great manager. That’s why we’ve seen it blow up at Chelsea and Man United.

Mourinho can still be successful if he can find somewhere he can be happy again.

Don't be a child.

Fred specified in Mourinho's past two jobs he's fallen behind the rest of football. I took that period of 6 years and asked him to tell me which managers achieved more in those 6 years specifically to see how far behind he actually did fall.

Yeah but youre not talking to Fred.

Anyway I posted three managers so that's that put to bed which is good isnt it?

I don't think that's what happened at Chelsea. At Chelsea the players weren't ready after winning the league to go again the next season. They were given extra time off over the summer and came back overweight. The situation with the doctor as well further put pressure on him and the players didn't perform to the level they were capable of. What the club should have done was write-off that season and gone again the next season but they jumped the gun and fired Mourinho too early.

At United, I think Mourinho was making progress but was completely undermined by club last summer and felt that he no longer had their full trust which is a slippery slope. He then fell out with certain players and his position became impossible. I think a lot of this shows how modern players are actually harder to motivate than players maybe 10 years ago and this also plays into what happened at both clubs.

You posted three managers managing in different leagues. Why not compare him to managers in the same league?

It's obviously easier to win the Serie A with Juventus or the Spanish League with Barcelona than it is to win the Premier League with Manchester United.

Im not sure youre taking this seriously tbh.

He’s not been the same since Madrid sacked him. Then his dad died. His ego has taken huge blows over the last few years and the situation with his dad was huge, by all accounts.

Mourinho’s always been prone to having meltdowns, but even more so now than previously for those reasons.

His is the big problem holding him back. It’s not easy to remedy.

From the 13/14 season to the 18/19 season covers the full length of Mourinho's time at Chelsea and Manchester United.

Mourinho has won 1 league title, 1 Europa League and 2 League cups
Klopp has won 1 Champions League
Pockets has won nothing

Extremely rare a manager stays at the top for more than a decade.

He is done imo. Certainly dont think he'll get another big job.

We'll agree to disagree then. There was no meltdown when he was in charge of Chelsea in his final season and he had plenty of reasons to be angry when he was in charge of Manchester United last season.

posted on 11/6/19

We'll see what the football world thinks but I suspect his next contract will be with BeIn sports.

It’s rare, but I think he’ll get another big job. You underestimate his standing in football, in an era lacking top managers.

I don't understand what more Mourinho could have done in his last two jobs. At Chelsea the players just weren't performing. The only solution was to write-off the season and try again the next season but the club didn't give him that opportunity.

At United, the club completely undermined him over the summer and then the team's biggest player publicly fell out with him.

posted on 11/6/19

Its not the managers job to manage the players tbf.

posted on 11/6/19

But Mourinho doesn’t accept responsibility for his failings and just deflects. He’s got a massive chip on his shoulder. No wonder he’s had such admiration for the Liverpool fanbase.

I'm hoping he goes back to Utd AND Chelsea tbh.

More likely Liverpool in the future.

He'll end up coaching his national side sooner or later.
The media has stirred it again by suggesting he could go back to Chelsea. No way is that happening, sorry Wahl.
Newcastle? maybe!
