Happens at every club where players are moved on.
No news article.

oh well thats ok then.

losing players of value is fine cause it happens at other clubs.

ledley and samaras had value HB - Sammy was worth his weight for his goals in the champions league at the very least.

Boyata - ok for him to go but he says he would have stayed and that the truth will come out, even if he signs we can sell him on later for a fee instead of letting him go for nothing.

as for lustig - we now have ralston as a rb plus i'm willing to bet we will sign someone schite and then as back up have someone who can "do a job in there"

A very good player first few years but injuries took their toll.

16 trophies in 7 seasons though and for a free transfer he’s been a good signing.

He’s finished now though and at least with him Gamboa and Toljan now gone then there’s no choice but to go and sign a quality RB.....

Stephen O’Donnell and I launch myself off the Erskine Bridge.

‘Ah hate Lustig! Get rid!!’

That’s Lustig away.

‘Aw man-look at that! Pyoor unforgivable how they’ve treated him!!’

Any chance we can just stick to one narrative?!

i'm scunnered man

not at lustig leaving, but another who is unhappy with the board.

such an important year and their total baws of up transfers last year has put us in a mess, then the appointment of the pintosaurus to really cap it off.

It's disappointing that Lustig is leaving under a bit of a cloud, he was a terrific signing.

However he was well passed his best.

i agree, but tbh i'd probably have kept him as backup.

But is is unhappiness not really only about the fact they wanted him to take a pay cut an only a one year deal. His star has been on the wane for over 2 seasons so no way he could complain about a pay cut. If he wanted to stay for his "love of the club" then the pay cut should not have been an issue with him. Not like he hasn't made a decent bit of money out the club in the previous years. So when they say "it's not about the money" the truth is it is about the money!!!

He didn’t get offered what he wanted.

No one knows what he wanted, and no one knows what he was offered.

Ledley had an offer sitting for the best part of 3 months, and didn’t sign it. He would have been out of contract at the summer, and we got offered money for him. If he wanted to stay, he would have signed.

Boyata would have stayed-if we’d paid him what he asked for. Don’t know what he wanted, but it would probably have been substantial.

When folk don’t get what they want-especially footballers-then they’re unhappy.

I would have preferred to keep Lustig, but if he’s not happy with the terms on offer then he has the choice to leave.

It doesn’t matter what happens, folk will choose what they want to believe, especially if it gives them the chance to back up their beliefs.

The issue with that is if we start trying to keep every player who is finished as a back up we still have to pay 8,10 or 12K a week to keep these guys so the wage bill is never gonna reduce and we are all aware our wage bill at the club needs trimming in areas if we are going to get new players in.........allegedly trying!!

So if we keep Lusitg and Izzy as back ups for example that is a hefty wedge every week for 2 players who will likely on play 5-6 times each a season.

Exactly Lustig could hang up his boots and live a life of luxury on the coin Celtic paid him over the years, good luck but he has hardly been fooked in the erse by Celtic.

We got to the UEFA cup final with Kirk Broadfoot at RB.

You can still have good times with O'Donnell.

i just see no reasons to be optimistic so far, wouldnt shock me if someone comes in for eddie as well.

this is such a huge season for us and i feel like we are nowhere, its negligent imo.

What did he say about the board? Any quotes? Not that i dont believe you cos we all know they are cants

said he loved the club and the fans, but when asked about club management just went "no comment"

Hmmmm maybe he meant how it was going with Rodgers leaving and that. Strange though.

Who at the club now has the job of identifying potential signings?

posted on 11/6/19

I get the negativity guys but time for moaning comes at the end of the window & we've made an erse of it again. We're only at the start. I realise we need players in sooner rather than later so they're in place for the qualifiers, but can't just be for the sake of filling the position.

We need to clear wages urgently which might give us a chance of offering decent to a good quality replacement. Keeping these that are obviously past their best does us no good. I loved izzy (attack wise) at his best but was shocking when he played this season. Possibly lustig I might have kept as absolute back up & maybe let him do coaching badges (if he wanted to) as I believe he is a big influence in the dressing room.

Side point but if we do let Ntcham go for approx what has been quoted... Happy days & free money! HH
