You overlook the only manager to actually get us promoted! He has mellowed apparently, and will get the best out of our Jock contingent

With Trump in the White House and BoJo soon to be PM, this would hardly be a shock.

I will be much miffed if Frank leaves. He really did get a buzz of excitement around the club. Thought he would be here a couple of more years before being poached by Chelsea.

With you on this, personally I don't think he will go, if he does, well, he's not got the balls and taking the coin and the so called notoriety

I wasn’t in favour of Lampard being appointed. I thought he would be too much a pop star and that it would all be about him and not Derby. That’s happened a bit but he has surprised me with his desire to do well here and his commitment. I think he has been tactically less than astute at times and has relied on, and been flattered by to an extent, individual flashes of skill rather than team play. Maybe that fabulous win at Elland Road made the campaign feel more successful than was warranted by the performances over the whole season. But I thought he showed development as a coach in the last couple of months, some pragmatism which is needed at this level. He certainly created a wonderful spirit amongst the squad and he has that sprinkling of stardust that the great sportsmen have, of tending to end up on top one way or another.

I’ll be really sorry if he leaves. I had a good feeling about next season, the momentum seems with us, young players coming through, everyone pulling in the same direction. I really think that without the Leeds victory he wouldn’t be in the frame for Chelsea at this stage. What irony that such a great victory might derail us.

Well said as ever. Chelsea will still be there for him, when he is ready.

Right now he has unfinished business with Derby and I hope that he will recognise that

According to BBC, Lampard's position will be clarified before July 1st when the players return.

Ewing Grahame interviews Tommy Docherty in The Times - he is 91 and still available apparently

Incidentally I had not appreciated that he had served in Palestine with the Highland Light Infantry..............

I doubt whether that would have been voluntary Heb. The age of conscription, a form of punishment many young men had to endure for committing the crime of being a young man.

For those that have not already seen it.

In the article it mentions that Chelsea would let us loan some of their players as a sweetener should FL go to Chelsea, so hopefully at least Tomori would stay and there maybe others like him available.

posted on 15/6/19

Maybe the new manager doesn’t want any of Chelsea’s loan players. Tomori and Mount only came to derby because Lampard was at Derby.

Lifted from an article on Chelsea.

"The appointment of Frank Lampard as Chelsea manager would represent a drastic change of approach by Roman Abramovich. But would it make sense?

Roman Abramovich has never been one for sentimentality. His Chelsea reign is best defined as a ruthless pursuit of success. In 16 years, there have been 13 managerial changes. The short-term approach has yielded 16 major trophies, so it is no great surprise that they are allowing Maurizio Sarri to depart despite his Europa League final win. Business as usual."

I hope Franks stays and we keep Mount and Tomori for another season.

John Percy, a reputable journalist, is reporting that we are now engaged in discussions with Lampard over a new contract.

The plot thickens. On the face of it you would think this is simply to drive up the compo package but why would Lampard be interested in doing that if he wants to leave?

Anyway, it gives us something to talk about in the close season.

Could be a ploy to force Chelsea’s hand early, be interesting to see what clause would be inserted this time round though if he does sign.
