It definitely didn't harm me as conscription was long gone by the time I was 17, thankfully.

I hope Franks stays and we keep Mount and Tomori for another season.
--------------------------------------
Same here, Ramdini. However, I also think that Frank's major qualities were attracting the likes of these, plus Wilson, and promoting Bogle to the first XI. Not tactics, nor team selection. If we lose Frank (and I hope we don't) but retain the loans he attracted last year, plus compo, it's not the end of the world.
OK Sheep I'll relax a bit. Worry about Australia likely to beat Sri Lanka.

Sky News says he's gone! What now I wonder?
We recruit another manager, life goes on Ramdini. It is not all gloom. We have a big windfall from the gate receipts of the play offs, we will receive another windfall as compensation from Chelsea. We start the season about £10M better off before a ball is kicked.
Our wage bill has reduced due to contracts ending so we will be an attractive choice for many capable managers. Just hope Mel makes another good choice.
just been told Chelsea have not asked to speak to lampard.plus he had signed a new 3 year deal so who knows whats happening

@Darley Abbey
Signing a new contract means very little in the world of football these days unfortunately , other than one club is guaranteed compensation and the other is paid better before moving on to bigger and better things.
Here's hoping he will stay but when family members in the football circle ( Redknapp senior and junior) are suggesting he should go it does look like he'll be on his way, IF Chelsea do actually want him.
If that does happen I'd like to see Derby keep the Chelsea and Liverpool links open so that we can get up and coming players on loan that can offer just hat little bit more quality.
Wouldn't have considered it in a million years but what about John Terry at the helm with Zola as assistant?
If John Terry being here meant a continued friendship with Chelsea it could be a second best thing next to keeping Frank.
Would Frank want Mount and Tomori in his Chelsea squad given at the transfer ban? Yes I think so, but there maybe others we could borrow.
Out of curiosity, do Chelsea have to confirm to the new rules of interviewing at least 1 BAME candidate for the job? If so does that mean they have to open it up to applicants, regardless as to reports that Frank is already taking Chelsea training and they have erased any suggestion that he ever managed anyone before Chelsea.
Mel has finally called Chelsea out!
Lampard will accept the Chelsea offer.
He’s already bought a one-way 1st class single rail ticket from Derby to St Pancras.
He won’t be coming back to Direby that’s for sure!
Why would Lampard buy a ticket from Derby to St Pancras when he already has a house in the South of England?
He was in London at the weekend so it seems unlikely he would subsequently buy a one-way ticket from Derby to St. Pancras. What would be the point of that?
Lampard seems an honorable chap. Usually these things are sorted out behind the scenes before any sort of formal approach but perhaps he thinks it would be disrespectful to speak to Chelsea off the record. He and Morris do seems to have a very good relationship. Maybe Chelsea want to interview him and hear what he has to say rather than necessarily him being their preferred candidate. Similarly maybe Lampard wants to interview Chelsea, find out what Abramovich's future plans are (all gone quiet on the stadium rebuild and no sign of the owner at Chelsea game for a year apparently) before deciding if he actually wants to go there at this point in his career. This and the "new contract discussions" thing seems to be Morris trying to force Chelsea to front up and to stop them trying to sound out Lampard on the sly, and maybe this is also what Lampard wants, to have it out in the open. You would think that by far the likeliest outcome is for Lampard to be going to Chelsea but it ain't necessarily so.
Well I'm certain he wont be going to WBA. What a step down that would be. Rowett found out the same at Stoke. Small clubs with deluded fans.

Ho, ho, ho.... what a hoot!
The Mighty Baggies have been in the Premiership and the top level for far more seasons than little Direby. I know who’s deluded!
BTW, hows Georgie Thorn doing or has his career been ruined following his move to you lot? Bet he regrets it even though he wasn’t close to being our first choice.
Eleven points rings a bell
Oh no the bad man is calling us Direby and mentioned 11 points.

Baggyman, you aren’t doing your proud club any favours with these postings. Thanks for the reminder of our infamous season in the EPL,I’m sure we will have to bear that particular cross for some time yet,but hopefully we’ll do it with a little more grace and dignity than you and others seem to have.
Regarding George Thorne,as a genuine football fan I’m sure you are aware of the injuries George has sustained and will be wishing him well as he battles to rebuild his career.
Best wishes for next season.
He's just a troll, Edinburgh, from a little club we beat 7 2 on aggregate last season.
This post has degenerated into mere childishness. Can we get back to what is happening with Frank? And I view with deep suspicion the fact that Bowyer will not reach an agreement with Charlton. I sincerely hope MM is not considering offering him the job at PP.
I noticed that Ramdini, Adkins refused to renew at Hull as well. Really don't want either but then I was unhappy when Tim Ward was sacked, didn't want Jim Smith and thought Nigel Pearson was a good appointment so what do I know.
@Ramdini,
You can relax, Bowyer has signed a new contract!
So, most fans are in agreement that Lampard needs to stay.
If he was to leave, who are we fans ideally looking at as his successor?
1) Terry
2) Hughton
3) Adkins
4) Danny Cowley (Lincoln City)
5) Some German dude to replicate what Klopp has done at Liverpool, Wagner at Huddersfield and Farke at Norwich.
6) Somebody else
Houghton has experience but some poor signings in his last season at Brighton go against him. Wagner did wonders with a Huddersfield side who weren't particularly good but he did sign Ince so maybe he has a few problems. Wagner would be the best choice if we could stump up sufficient Rhinegeld and we are big enough not to suffer Huddersfield's Gotterdammerung.
