Only watched Germany v Japan and the German's had some half decent looking birds.

Any other nations have fitties playing for them?

You remind me of women who only watch football for "fit lads".

USA comes to mind as having the most attractive team I've seen so far but not been watching all the games.

If they ever get to the standard of Men's Football,

Theyd need to get past the 15 year old boy standard first

Big can of worms ahead here

If pundits start using phrases like "she doesn't look fit" then the "right on" brigade will be all over it

I just can't get into women's football. Every game I watch the keepers are sh!te and I know that I could do a better job than them between the sticks. Gets on my nerves and I have to turn it over.

Well I'm clearly not just watching it to see fit lasses-there are no guarantees....and I never understood why people do that when they can just watch porn?

Anyway, I like football, I like women. 2= better that 1. It's no more or any less than that.

So how long would that take? 50 years? 100 years? 1000 years? We have time.

Completely agree, keepers in womens football make a mockery of the game.

What I do like about the womens game is the technical nature. Aside from the occasional freak, like the French VVD twin, physicality doesn't seem to override technique as it can in the mens game.

They should make the goals, maybe even the pitches slightly smaller imo.

Alex Scott (at half time)
Hope Solo (at half time)

Did I mention that I'm also enjoying the football?

Saw the goals from the USA game yesterday. Genuinely, it looked like the keeper had taken a bung. Never seen anything like it.

That's an interesting perspective. I agree. Also, I quite like that it's not overly clinical and tactical as it can be in the men's game at times.

This has been suggested and a few of the women's players got offended. To be honest, I don't think it would help the keepers, as most of them seem to struggle with shots that are straight at them anyway.

Thailand got a thumping at the last WC as well. They are a very poor team.

Probably the attackers, would mean they'd have to aim their shots a bit if the goals were smaller. Anywhere within 2 ft of the post or bar and the little keepers have no chance.

Kids (male) play in smaller goals until they're fully grown men, and even some of those hit puberty and grow faster than others.

It's nothing to be offended by, it's not a question of talent but just genetics.

Same as women hitting from a slightly closer tee in professional golf imo.

Goals should be smaller, and pitches.

Well, it's definitively improved over the last 50 years. If it continues at the same rate, they could get pretty close if they get the right funding.

It seems that the international game is very profitable for sponsors. However, I have no idea about how that money would impact the domestic game.

The usa womens team lost to 15 year old boys from dallas, the australian team also comfortably lost to an u15 club side.

Unless evolution decides to change their physique they'll never get close to men.

That doesn't mean the keeper isn't allowed to put her arm out.

They won't be playing against men though.

The standard could still get higher and higher so all players are technically great, and the matches would be much better to watch then. Regardless of how they'd lose to a side where every single player is bigger/stronger/faster. It's not comparable, but the standard of actual football ability/tactics etc could improve and bridge the gap.

Still don't think it will though.
