Pogba’s value has increased because transfers have increased. Manchester United can turn down offers because we don’t need the money. He’s under contract and a quality footballer so it needs to be an amount we find acceptable.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yes all this makes sense but £150m for a player who strolls around and doesnt put the effort in, who hasn't lived up to his potential thus far? I'm not seeing it.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Well clearly Madrid and juve see it as opposed to some snot nosed little ja606 user
----------------------------------------------------------------------
If by clearly you mean not clearly, then yes.
Unless you want to provide me with the evidence that Juve and Madrid want to pay £150m for the flop?
Didn't think so.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Well they are very interested and the going rate is going to be upwards of 150m
Or do you honestly believe we will sell him for anything less than 100m?
If you do the you are as stupid as I have always known you are
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Sure little buddy, I'll take your word for it.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
So go on then. Give me the price you think we will sell him for
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I'd say around the £100m mark, giving you profit despite him flopping, due to the transfer fees increasing massively since the Neymar deal.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
So you sold Coutinho for 146m and we should sell Pogba for 46m less?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Generally better players go for more money. It isn't exactly rocket science, is it?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Wouldn't say Coutinho is better than Pogba at all to be honest....was good at liverpool but hardly dominated the league and Pogba has been as good if not better

I guess that's where our opinions differ on his valuation then as I don't think he's anywhere near as good as Coutinho. Pogba has been poor, won't even put the effort in, whereas not only did Coutinho put the effort in, fighting for his team, he scored goals and assisted plenty also. Hence Barcelona buying him for £140m.
Hasn't exactly worked out for him at Barca, everybody will have their own opinion on that, mine is they keep using him as a Neymar replacement on the left, where he isn't an out and out attacker so won't hit the same figures but he should have been used as an Iniesta replacement where he can work hard and create and score from range. He certainly can't be accused of a lack of effort.

They have scored around the same amount of goals in total over the last few seasons and Pogba is generally played deeper and Pogba was one of the highest chance creator for a midfielder in Europe. Pogba imo is the better player. Most definitely he isn’t 46m lesser player. Plus he is far more marketable than Coutinho plus the fact we have mountains of cash compared to when you sold Coutinho. Believing that we should sell Pogba for 100m when you sold Coutinho for 146m is utterly ludicrous

Where it also doesn't help is that we overpaid for Pogba and Barca were even more stupid in their valuation of Coutinho.
Neither player is, was or ever will be a top tier player so shoulnt command stupid money.

Yes, Pogba has decent stats, that's great but he won't fight, he won't push himself, he won't do things to help his team. Of course goals and assists help somewhat but if one cog in the wheel isn't putting in 100%, it all falls apart, especially if you're trying to play a pressing game. Coutinho did all these things Pogba seems incapable of but also had the stats. Simply, he is a better player. Pogba has flopped and therefore it's unlikely you'll make over £50m profit. You may make a profit, due to the way transfer fees have gone but certainly not over £50m. Likewise if Barca sold Coutinho, they wouldn't get a £50m profit, even if he is the better player.
Countiho had just added to his magic flashes throughout seasons and become consistently world class before Barca came in. Pogba showed great potential but just hasn't put the effort in to improve. That's the difference. Perhaps if he'd stop getting his hair coloured and doing silly haircuts every week and concentrated on improving, this could change as we all know there is a top player in there.

Well i think pogba overall is definitely a better player than Coutinho is. Pogba could be a leader, he showed that for France. Something Coutinho never would be.
No way is Pogba a leader, how can a leader be somebody who doesn't put effort in, doesn't fight? How can people look at him as an example? This is why he was stripped of the captaincy. In what way can he lead?

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Did you see him for France in the WC?
I watched the France and Turkey game and he was absolutely shocking. Strolled around the pitch without ever once breaking into a sprint, game the ball away, didn't go after it, don't even remember him putting a tackle in. Even still you'd expect when the chips are down a leader would start shouting at a few people, start fighting and hassling players for the ball, nope, nothing.
France couldn't muster a single shot on target but what was most evident was that every time Pogba got on the ball, they were all over him, like a pack of Wolves, dispossessing him and when they got on the ball, he strolled close by. France lost the game in midfield, they simply couldn't create anything and couldn't close down the Turkish quick attacks. It was truly shocking from the French midfield but especially Pogba.

Unfortunately not. Saw him for Juventus a load of times and he was quite good, showed great potential for his age and definitely looked like he could go on and become a great one but as I said, I think he has only held himself back by not putting in the effort. it's like he thinks he shouldn't have to, all the others should do all the running for him.
Would easily be the best CM in the world imo if he had the attitude of someone like Milner.
You picked one game when every single one of them were shocking..mbappe especially.
He was fantastic in the World cup at leading his team. Many of the players said it and there were clips of him motivating the team in the dressing room

Yes but Mbappe was shocking as he had absolutely no service. The midfield were absolutely to blame in that game, especially Pogba, he kept getting overran as he couldn't hold onto the ball and couldn't pass it. Then when they were on the ball he strolled close by. He was shocking.

Pogba’s value has increased because transfers have increased. Manchester United can turn down offers because we don’t need the money. He’s under contract and a quality footballer so it needs to be an amount we find acceptable.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yes all this makes sense but £150m for a player who strolls around and doesnt put the effort in, who hasn't lived up to his potential thus far? I'm not seeing it.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Well clearly Madrid and juve see it as opposed to some snot nosed little ja606 user
----------------------------------------------------------------------
If by clearly you mean not clearly, then yes.
Unless you want to provide me with the evidence that Juve and Madrid want to pay £150m for the flop?
Didn't think so.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Well they are very interested and the going rate is going to be upwards of 150m
Or do you honestly believe we will sell him for anything less than 100m?
If you do the you are as stupid as I have always known you are
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Sure little buddy, I'll take your word for it.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
So go on then. Give me the price you think we will sell him for
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I'd say around the £100m mark, giving you profit despite him flopping, due to the transfer fees increasing massively since the Neymar deal.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
So you sold Coutinho for 146m and we should sell Pogba for 46m less?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Generally better players go for more money. It isn't exactly rocket science, is it?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Wouldn't say Coutinho is better than Pogba at all to be honest....was good at liverpool but hardly dominated the league and Pogba has been as good if not better
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I guess that's where our opinions differ on his valuation then as I don't think he's anywhere near as good as Coutinho.

I agree however the way football is these days and the fees banded about I would expect around 150m

Yes but Mbappe was shocking as he had absolutely no service. The midfield were absolutely to blame in that game, especially Pogba, he kept getting overran as he couldn't hold onto the ball and couldn't pass it. Then when they were on the ball he strolled close by. He was shocking.
