So Super Ed, over the last 7 years you would give what rating out of 10, for Ed’s performance?
Let’s call it your ‘Appraisal’ meeting.
Does Ed warrant a rise? Or should there be short term targets put in place for him to meet, to justify him remaining in his position?
Do you believe Gil would of had it just as hard if had he remained?
I don’t believe so, as Gils reputation was set in stone already, he deffo wouldn’t have got hustled in the transfer market, or used like a piñata.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Il destroy your argument with 1 question.

Who would you replace Ed with?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Derek Trotter. He’d do a far better job.

Re Jose, he didnt say I asked for a CB but Ed said no did he.

.........

What Jose said was he gave Ed a list of six players. Ed only gave him three.

All of this is factual. Ed didn't get him the other three. This all the evidence points to Ed not backing him after stupidly extending his contract.

You have been told all this before yet are pretending you have not been.

Why do you ignore all the factual stuff people tell you.

Well he obviously didnt plan on sacking him when he gave him the extension.

Re the cost of Ed's incompetence, give us fact based examples and il try and answer.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
He shouldn't have given him an unwarranted at that time contract extension and then not back him a few months later

We finished 6th and wont be competing in the cl next season. The financial implications are obvious with regard to TV revenue, prize money and advertising contracts

It probably would have been cheaper to pay 80mill for Jose's CB last summer

--------------------------------------------------------------------
How do you know Ed didnt back him?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Jose's sour puss from August till the day he was sacked is a bit of a give away not to mention that the CB he wanted never materialised.
---------------------------------------------------------------------
But that's not to say Ed didnt try. What if Ed offered £100m for the target and the selling club asked for £170m?

No club gets EVERYONE they want. For all you know Ed tried everything to get all 6.

The facts are this

Ed backed Jose by giving him the job.

Ed backed Jose with Ibra, Pogba, Lukaku, Bailly, Lindelof, Fred, Dalot, Sanchez, at huge expense.

Ed backed Jose enough to offer the extension.

Jose claims he didnt get all the players he wanted. We do not KNOW why.

For all you know he didn't. And that is where evidence leads us, with the fact Jose didn't get the players he asked for and his demeanor on the Tour when being told by Ed he wasn't getting them.

..

Ed should not have offered Jose an extension. That is the issue. I told you this yesterday, twice. Do not bring it up again. It doesn't help you.

posted on 15/6/19

It's you and others stating opinion as fact. Not me. We do not KNOW why Ed didnt get all 6.

In your opinion Ed shouldn't shouldn't have offered an extension. Hindsight is a great thing.

Eh?!
‘That’s not how the force works?’

How you gonna answer question with a question?
I already said, it’s the footballing side he’s failing at.
Regardless of the great hustling he does for UTD, it’s not translating to the pitch.
I understand he’s pretty great at the commercial side of things. He needs to have a word with himself, step aside.
Or risk him losing everything at UTD.
Cos ultimately most fans won’t give a damn if he gets Disney or the Kardashian’s to sponsor us and spread the good word.
It’s reaching, maybe reached catastrophic levels of incompetence, for a club with the power and stroke of UTD.
If he even came out back in 2013 and said something like ‘we have Moyes for 6 years. We are hitting the reset button.
Tough road ahead, but there is a plan that we have committed too’...
at the very least, you can say in Ed’s defence, that he had a vision, whether you agreed or not.

To answer your question. I don’t have a name.
But I believe there are many a great CEO in this world. Their reputations will transcend within that world. They are head hunted.
Ed is replaceable.

To make his point Jose had Herrera and mctominay playing at CB at one stage in the season and then walks away with a nice big pay day courtesy of super Ed's stupidity

And for all.you know, the next contract had a cheaper redundancy settlement.

You don’t think Ed is replaceable?
But anyway, Ok, Super Ed, I admit defeat. I can’t be doing this dance. My position is pretty straight forward. I answer straight, but yours meanders all over the place just to avoid answering...
If after 7 years you don’t think Ed’s position should be seriously under threat is just bonkers.

......

By lining it up against Ed. This is how the world works.

Compare the City infrastructure and how it works with all of their teams, not just the first XI, the player recruitment, wage structure and end result to hapless Ed in the last six years.

And City is just one of many.

And don't return with your irrelevant list of supposed crimes climbs may have committed or I will laugh at you again.

You agree he refused to sell Martial. So that's him not backing the manager and interfering with his team.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

I also said IF the rumours are true
-----
That's true. You did say rumours.

What about the fact that Jose asked for a new CB and didn't get one? And then went on to mention the backing Klopp and Pep got at their clubs but he didn't. He used the example of City buying a new GK after Bravo was bought and them buying 4 defenders (3 of whom were FBs, with two of them RBs and for large sums).

Why is it that you ignore these ones? They're not rumours. They are what Jose said.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Exactly. Rumours are just that. I'm glad now accept that.

Re Jose, he didnt say I asked for a CB but Ed said no did he. For all you know Ed moved heaven and Earth to get the target but the demands were ridiculous.
------
Jose demanded openly to the press about a CB. He said he wasn't backed as Klopp and Pep were. Now you make an assumption that Ed didn't say no based on Jose not clearly saying "I asked for a CB and Ed said no"?

Can you prove he did try to sign defenders in the Jose's last window? No need to prove he moved heaven and earth, we're there any efforts or concrete bids made?

Replace Ed at what? Please be specific. Because I'd keep him in the role of acquiring new sponsorships.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
CEO. That's his role, the one people are saying he is no good at.
-------------------------
If you looked at all my statements, he does not have to leave his role as a CEO. He does need to create a position where people who know the football side of things to take care of that.

Look at Liverpool and City. They have people who deal with business deal With business. Those that deal with football deal with football. You could point that out at mnay clubs.

Clubs where the CEO deals with football, the CEO tends to have knowledge of the football side of things. You could look to set up at other top sides.

What is Ed's football links and knowledge before he was at United?

We should look to try getting Gill back. At least he knew what he was doing.
