What if everyone switched to IPTV and the TV companies went bust and couldn't afford the massive TV deals anymore? Our clubs would go bust overnight.
Don't even get me started on the selfish priiicks who go to matches instead of paying their TV prescriptions. Killing our clubs.
I try and share subscriptions with family/friends.
If you know someone with Plusnet broadband, you can get BT Sport on the app for £5 a month (you can stream that to your TV).
If you know someone with Sky Football - you can share it with Sky Go for up to 4 people if you have Sky Go extra.
If you are or know a student - they get Amazon Prime half price - so share that.

You have to sign up for one year though, you cannot sign up for one month. And I am not sure if the 30 day trial will allow you to watch the PL matches. That would be a massive invite for abuse.

It's only the UK which suffers this utter shambles
Step outside to pretty much any other country in the world and you can watch every single Prem (plus the rest) game live and also on demand for a fraction of the cost
Hopefully there will be some sort of revolt if things continue like this.
It should really be regulated better though, price to the consumer should be capped and the only allowable split in rights should be to allow the free to air channels a slice of the pie.

I am all for ridiculous money in the game as long as it benefits the EPL. If Serie A for example became the richest then it would be immoral because it's not benefitting me.

That's true, but they won't be able to sell the rights for nearly as much if they're offering all games to all platforms. If the PL can't guarantee Sky/BT and audience, then Sky/BT aren't going to pay several billion for the rights.

More variable how? When I was growing up, it was still Utd, Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal, with blips from Leeds and Newcastle dominating our entrance to the various European competitions.

It's not Sky's fault that the Premier League have done a fantastic branding job. It's a free-market, and other leagues had every opportunity to do the same. When I was growing up, Serie A was dominant - They could've done more to leverage that popularity and momentum.
Bit disingenuous to blame Sky.
Also, Amazon have ruined a lot more businesses worldwide than Sky ever could.
