Eriksen...

Some of you bigging up Eriksen must have had shat in your eyes last season. He is a lazy facker who can't take a corner but every so often (like the late winner against Brighton) he shows us what he is capable of when he can be bothered.

He's consistently the player who covers the most distance in the team

The lazy thing is such a weird thing to criticise him for- it's like you dont even watch him play and just assume that hes probably lazy if hes a creative number 10

The lazy facked ran the furthest in the team last season

Well at least you’ve moved on from being wrong about Lloris

Must be running away from the ball that gives that stat because I often often wonder if he was on the pitch. When we needed some creativity in the cl final where was he?

After his terrible cl start I thought Hugo recovered well and had a good season and I even let the terrible error at Anfield go. He won us points (at West Ham for example) and saved 3 pens in a row which were the things he wasn't doing when I was quite rightly criticising him.

Eriksen had a shocking season and I can't believe any Spurs fan would say otherwise?

Eriksen`s lack of commitment in the tackle lets him down, but overall you can not criticize his effort, he could score more goals perhaps but he still assists plenty and is our most creative player. Obviously he has had one eye on a move, but his performances have still been acceptable. He is a player we should be hoping we can keep.

Is he actually good enough for madrid to build a midfield around?

Shocking

10 goals & 17 assists including huge last min goals against Inter, Burnley & Brighton.

Lies, damn lies and statistics.

You can fire up your stat machine as much as you like but anybody watching him (particularly in the later stages) last season could see he clearly wasn't leaving it all on the pitch.

I am guessing Trippier had a great season in your view then? Nobody has faulted his commitment.

You could probably highlight 10 goals he was at fault for but that is merely a statistic.

Eriksen over the course of this season made a average 1.2 tackles per game = unacceptable

Sissoko over the course of this season made a average 1.2 tackles per game = Rock solid, showing commitment

But hey they are just stat right

This article is about Eriksen and I haven't mentioned Trips or Sissoko?

As it goes I thought Trips had a woeful season and Sissoko although much improved must be lying awake wishing he'd kept his arm down in Madrid.

I'll tell you what I know its a bit if my auntie had bollox......etc but if it hadn't been for VAR at City there would be plenty of Spurs boys demanding Eriksen was sold. He was a lucky boy that night!

Played 5 a side in the gym today and 7 of the 10 lads playing are Spurs boys (2 of which were at the cl final). Perplexed by the defence of Eriksen by some on this thread I thought it would be interesting to gauge the general feelings on Eriksens season and the prospect of him getting a transfer to one of the handful of European teams that are a step up from us.

As I suspected the fellas thought it was laughable that anybody could think he put a proper shift in this year and after his performance in the cl final it would be surprising if a Barca, Real or PSG will want to pay a huge fee as well as mega wages for him.

Its all about opinions but as I suspected this forum is not reflecting the annoyance that most Spurs fans are feeling about Eriksens level of performance in recent months. The general feeling amongst my mates is that he won't get the move he craves and will sign a new contract.

Of course he will then say that he wanted to stay all along.

I agree that being a st doesn't make you an expert but to me its been so obvious that Eriksens heart hasn't been in it recently I wanted to get the opinion of some lads who are proper Spurs and who I respect.

I also agree that he isn't a bad player and as one of our better players thats made his decision to down tools all the more insulting and infuriating.

There are those on this article who have said thats his drop of in form was acceptable as he eyed up a move!? That is such horseshit, if you are looking for a transfer to one of Europes elite clubs you should be showing what you can do.

I think it’s obvious to everyone his heart hasn’t been in it. I and a number of others have said the same. He deserves flak for his form over the second half of the season.

But it’s one period of poor form in six years, during which I don’t recall him ever being out injured for any length of time. We’ve risen from a 6th place team to an established CL team in his time at the club and he has been a big part of that. Played 277 games for us, scored 66 goals made 80 assists. That’s 146 goals he’s been directly involved in in 277 games. Those sorts of numbers are almost impossible to just go out and replace. Clubs that are serious about progress don’t just flog players of Eriksens calibre if they can avoid it. He surely has enough credit in the bank at the club to be allowed a poorer season. It’s the same as the dikheads who were saying ‘Poch out’ earlier in the season when we hit a bit of bad form. In life you should look to find solutions, not throw your toys out of the pram as soon as something isn’t right - which in my experience is what a lot of Spurs fans tend to do. I’m piiiissed off with Eriksen, but I’d much rather we found a solution to the problem that means keeping him and re-energising him than flogging off a top quality player in his prime.

If he stays and has the correct attitude I'm a happy man but when you compare his recent performances with Hazard its easy to see why one of them got their dream move and it doesn't look like the other will. You don't have to have a drop in performance when your heads been turned.

I've never wanted Poch out but his decision to bench Moura in the cl final was scandalous and I just wish he would stop making selection errors in big games. We all remember when he played Son at left back in the Cup semi against Chelsea.

We should be doing all we can to keep him long term, he is PL proven unlike many potential replacements, there is no guarantee Lo Celso for example will hit the ground running
