Too late already IMO. Just move on.

Btw...the idea that championship teams pay all their players 20/30k week is nonsense.

He'll be lucky to get more than celtic are offering down there

Don't get why this is all being played out in public.

I'd imagine every club that offers a player a contract after having transfer accepted think they are offering the player a 'magnificent offer'.

Personally I would have torn the offer up and move on. We have certain defensive positions we need sorted, like say RB hint hint....

Because that pathetic wee fan owned club Motherwell made it public that they had accepted the offer.
So Celtic now have to play this out in public

Oh aye the ol they started it

Who does the wee cant think he is? He's had one good season and he now has the chance to prove he can step up to a higher level.

Move on.

Any player has a value which includes transfer and wages. If the transfer is high tge wages have to be trimmed.

Let the wee fcker go to Barnsley for a few shekels and watch him disappear into total obscurity.

Has he even rejected it but

i thought Celtic's statement was that the offer was on the table for him to decide on and if not they move on. Is it no just a case of him and his agent pushing to see what they can get?

Too right if anyone offers you a job you'll be chancing your luck

Motherwell started it. That's a fact

Once it was public and formally confirmed that an offer had been accepted then Celtic had to let their fans know what's going on

trying to get players on the cheap again aye?

ROF

Looks like the agent rejected it.

Has he got the cojones to tell his agent to effaff?

It’s probably worth upping his offer. He will be worth £20m in a couple of years.

Probably 😳

Let's forget about him. Offer should be off the table now unless he tells his agent to gtf imho.

Fvck him

Billy Big Baws.......

It's not a priority position. Otherwise I would say maybe we could 'revise' the offer.

Focus on the priority areas of the team that really need strengthened.

I genuinely hope you don’t get the deal done.

I’ve been honest in my praise for the player. Really caught the eye in a way no one else outside the OF has done in recent years.

And only 19.

Worth pushing the boat out a bit for imo.

Maybe nothing to do with the player?

Agent playing wee bit of gamesmanship?

Terms offered higher than 1st contracts signed by VVD & Wanyama.

Don't think anybody can truly say 'fault lies with the club for failing to get this one over the line'. We've made the lad a very good offer...he said No. We move on.

Personally I'm more interested in who fills the gaping defensive holes.

If Celtic rate the boy enough to pay a ‘record fee’ then it would be shame to miss out for a few grand a week.

But I guess if he’s haggling over cash at this stage it might point to a bit of a worrying attitude problem.

His career path should involve establishing himself as a first team player at Celtic then outing in a couple of seasons as a stand out contributor to a successful team.

If he did that he should easily be looking at a move to a mid table epl team on best part of £50k a week.

Seems like extreme short sited-ness on behalf of the player tbh.

I will also be glad if you don't get this one over the line. I thought the deal was done tbh so surprising.

To be fair on the lad there is no harm in negotiating better although if he has been offered over 10k by Celtic then that seems a bit rich.

I also agree that Motherwell have hung the lad to dry a wee bit but announcing they had agreed a bid before contracts have been discussed.

I seem to remember similar happening with Hastie. The agent was messing us about and we pulled the offer. Hastie ended up binning the agent and approaching us.

Apparently he’s signing for Southampton on £20K a week. Good luck to him, no hard feelings but if he snaps his legs I won’t shed a tear
