Talk of Palace only selling AWB for £70m.

£150m for Maguire & AWB.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
No chance we will pay 70m. Likelihood is we will waver the Zaha clause and buy AWB for 50m

Maguire 80m and awb 70m. World has gone facking mental.

I would go through Deadinthehead ridiculous comments over the last 18 months however I am back at work Monday.

...

It wasn't even that much of a bad comment back in Jan 2018. What I said was that I didnt see what all the fuss was about.

Neither did any of the top coaches or managers in Europe or he wouldn't have been playing for Groningen, Celtic or Southampton.

I am quite happy to be in their company. Thickinthehead thinks he has something over me on this.

What a sad little individual he is.

i just try not to notice the price of footballers but it's kind of hard to avoid. to think contracts used to be secret and no one seemed to give a sh!t.

Man Utd are at the stage where you have to buy yourselves out of trouble.

Other clubs know that, and know that you can afford it. Only right that they’ll take you to the cleaners.

That’s a serious comment by the way, if someone wants to pick it apart for its logic feel free. It would make a change from the denials that are dressed up in other comments.

You’re correct, any club will make us pay big. If you want sensible debate then you’ll easily find it on this board. But your other comments were hardly worthy of a reasoned response.

That would even be for those of mid table clubs. Can't see players making a fuss to leave their club to join Man Utd unless Man Utd were offering them really lucrative contracts based on what they're already on.

That is making a rod for your backs for years.

You don’t half talk some sheite. Why wouldn’t a midtable a lower league club join Manchester United? The biggest club in the country, playing in front of 76000 fans. How about when you were finishing around 8th and still buying players from Newcastle, Southampton and the like? How is that any different. Do you actually think before you write?

Going by the evidence here he puts no thought into it what so ever.

It is likely why he talks trash on the internet. If he did it in the pub he would not last very long.

You just said that Solskjaer is not a top manager. Players want to play for a manager they rate.

If you don't rate Solskjaer why would a professional player?

They'd be waiting for that lucrative contract that "the biggest club in the country" can offer or waiting to see who Man Utd do sign first.

I cannot see Dan James being someone other players would get excited about.

Uphill task, even if you are the biggest club in the country. You'll have to spend convincing amounts of money got transfer fees and contracts.

Didn't say I didn't rate Solskjaer I said he isn't a top manager yet. Have you got anything right today?
Players don't solely choose a club on who the manager is you know.
Dan James isn't the only player that we have on our books. He is a young player and cost very little. A risk free signing and could be a very good one.

This is why under Mourinho you signed top players at the time.

Why did Coutinho leave you guys and go to barca under Valverde. Wouldn't call him a top manager personally.
If Spurs were in Europa league I guaranter majority of players would choose us over them despite them having a top manager in charge

That’s being disingenuous if you think playing with Messi and his mate Suarez didn’t have anything to do with it, as well as playing for Barca and the offer they made for him.

I have no issue accepting that playing with Messi, at Barcelona on a fat contract, especially for a Latin player, is more attractive than playing for Klopp at Liverpool.

Couts might have felt differently in the aftermath of the semi final second leg though.

Not quite, you do have to take stock of the whole picture.
If Barcelona finished 6th and were not in the Champions league, and didn’t have Messi I very much doubt he would have joined them.

What you’re comparing is below..

Barcelona
La Liga Champions
In the Champions League
Messi
Valverde

Vs

Man Utd
Finished 6th
Europa
Pogba
Solskjaer

It’s not even close. That is what Man Utd are offering at the moment, compared to a club at the top.

If, IF, Man Utd had a proven big name manager they would fare far better in attracting big name players.
Valverde still won the league so is a hell of a lot lore proven than Solsjkaer just with that.
