Just gotta get behind Frank when he's appointed...& he will be.

Wouldn't half be funny if he signs a new deal at Derby after all this hype.

Man rival fans would have a field day. Manager we dislike joins Juventus. Manager we like chooses Derby..... can't lie, I'll be chuckling a bit myself

Brummie feel the same way. I am disappointed how part of the Chelsea fan base reacted to Sarri during the season. There is a distinct lack of analysis prior to view forming, never more apparent than in football. The club is an appalling communicator, both internally and externally and they must shoulder much of the blame for Sarri not wanting to stay.

So what now? Well assuming the transfer vann stands, as seems increasingly likely then the choice of direction seems straightforward. A season of bringing on the development of the young talent must ensue and winning trophies and finishing top 4 must become irrelevant.

The problem though Biggish, is what same manager is going to want to take this basket case situation on at the moment.

Mine might not be a popular opinion but I'm deeply disappointed we've lost Sarri, with no successor in sight!

There's nothing wrong with his post at all. What makes you the font of all knowledge about how things will turn out?

We've appointed experienced managers by the bus load that have failed.

There is no right or wrong about managerial appointments, any given appointment can turn into a nightmare and there's no evidence to say that a manager who hasn't even been appointed yet will be a bad appointment.

Mons opinion is just as opinion is as valid as the next persons - even yours!
-------------------------------------------------------
The idea that Lampard will fail if we appoint him now is based in reality - lacks managerial experience, never had to deal with top players in a managerial capacity, never had to deal with intensive media pressure (as an England player probably the worst it got), never managed in the PL, etc... the argument that now's the right time to appoint him is what exactly?

I don't mind people liking the idea of it, don't even have a problem with people arguing what I believe to be falsehoods to justify it (that's just my opinion against there/DL11's opinions on it spring to mind), when people suggest those logical arguments against hiring him have no basis because of generalizations like 'it's different' or 'we've tried experience and failed', that's when I have problems. We tried inexperience/long term growth with AVB and that failed enormously, so there's no basis for that argument what so ever.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

No it's not based on reality whatsoever, you really need to have a word with yourself and stop lecturing people with what may or may not happen in the future with a manager we haven't even appointed yet.

Let's get this straight - you do not have a clue about what will happen IF Frank Lampard DOES get appointed as our next manager.

It's people like you who talk down there noses at others with their so cok sure 'Opinions' that really get up my hooter!

If you don't think he'll be a good appointment, fine, I'm quite happy for you to have that opinion, but don't deliver that opinion as fact and a basis to try and ridicule some one else who doesn't share your wisdom.

I don't know if he'll be a good appointment but I'm not going to pi$$ on someone else's opinion because I think it's flawed.

Chill man, that’s not what he was saying at all.

He was just saying it’s stupid to think that just because somethings different that it’s gonna turn out better. It will turn out better if it’s better, not if it’s different

On reflection I think Brummie just had issue with the tone of it, which is fair enough tbh - the comment triggered me and I went into d!ckhead mode.

Doesn't change the fact I disagreed with almost everything said in it, but I could've been nicer about it.

This is much more cordial and how it should be. May I apologise for my abruptness as well - I was admittedly on the bottom end of a bottle of Vino Collapso!

So now we're all good in the hood. I thought I was on the wrong board in a parallel universe for a minute when I saw 2 of the most sensible and reasonable posters on here going at it hammer and tongs.
