just been told by a journalist who'd know that Turnbull's agent told media people on Friday that he'd had the medical, which wasn't true. The agent then 'leaked' the story about talks breaking down later that day to the Daily Record.
The journalist thinks the agent used the fake medical story to put more pressure on Celtic when he dropped the 'talks have broken down' bombshell.
He says this agent has a reputation for lying to media and putting out contradictory stories.

Wouldn't think a newly capped Scotland LB wouldn't be too keen to go to celtic as a back up.

I hate agents. They are a cancer on the game. I'm sure there are a few good ones who do great by their clients, but it appals me the way they unsettle their players and how much money they take from the game.
Having said all that, maybe the boy Turnbull just doesn't want to play for Celtic so isn't that fussed if it breaks down? When I was his age I wouldn't have fancied playing for them either so I can understand it.

there's a dark cloud hanging over the club just now, for a team that's just won a 3rd treble on the spin shows you how much of a mess we're in

a lot of young players i feel are easily influenced by their agent chasing a tasty sum rather than the development of their client.
i honestly feel like i'm on a pure downer, as ghod says how is that possible after winning a third consecutive treble.
it's cause i expect it's now over tbh, that dominance we had at least, we might still win the league but forget about trebles now.
i also expect to see less skillfull players in favour of function.

Whilst the player will always have the final decision on who he actually signs for there has to be an understanding that the player to the greatest extent must stand back and not interfere with the dealings between club and agent as the agent can't allow emotion to cloud the business agreement.
How else could any agent best represent his player? Without interference is how.

Of course you can blame the middle man. It's naïve to think that agents don't disrupt and unsettle young players with promises of riches elsewhere, and I certainly don't take you for naïve Zach.
"Sign with me and i'll get you x amount from y club". That's how you get business as an agent, isn't it? By promising the world and continually pushing the client to "maximise his value" etc etc, even if it's not in the players best interests.
And let's face it, not all the players are the brightest are they? They can be easily influenced by the unscrupulous agents.
that's how clubs announce things now, Motherwell accepted a bid so the deals done at their end they had every right to announce it
we on the other hand made a james blunt of it as we seem to be doing a lot just now

that's how clubs announce things now, Motherwell accepted a bid so the deals done at their end they had every right to announce it
