Maybe all this faffing from Spurs has just been to get Aulas to name his price. If it's £63m, then you've gotta hope Levy will just get the damn deal done soon.
What you’ll realistically get is NoDembele.

You say that, however nowhere in the article does it state where the 63m figure has come from
No quotes from the negotiators or anyone involved in the potential deal.
I hope our transfers don't drag on too long as I am already but senseless of this transfer window
Social media is making it unbearable

The player has to be agreeable and he’s on holiday and said he’ll decide his future in July. Nothing will happen any day soon. That gives the likes of Real, Juve and Utd time to work out their midfield situations and prepare their own bids. Got a feeling we will get gazumped by a money club on this one while we’re bean counting.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
They'll all out bid us
This deal is never going to happen, move on fellas.
If he was that keen he wouldn`t have gone on holiday, he would have sorted out the deal, then gone on holiday.
This deal, like all the others, has failure all over it.
Yep - some other club, probably City, will come in and just pay it.

Why wouldn’t he go on holiday? It could take levy a month to do the deal.
He hardly going to sit around waiting is he plus it’ll be his agent doing the deal.
He’ll just need to pop over for a medical at some point
£60m is the new £30m, prices have gone through the roof but it is all relative in these times of record revenues etc
Our problem is probably Levy, he just can`t help himself, he loves to drive a hard bargain rather than just biting the bullet and paying the asking price. Levy is an excellent businessman and has worked wonders to make us competitive while spending next to nothing, but that will probably not take us the final step. Sometimes you have to slightly over pay to get deals done quickly, it` what Pool did with their Coutinho windfall for example.
We won't get anyone decent. Will probably bring in the next Njie . Nnjie.

This👍
I’d use Aurier as an example. 24mil but would’ve been a 10mil player 5-6 years ago, like Alan Hutton, and probably the same calibre of player.
We’ve kept up with inflation but haven’t moved up the bracket in terms of quality.
Son, Ali, Moura, Eriksen, Alderweireld have all been at that price but over performed

Exactly. Lyons president is the one who’ll agree a deal with Spurs. His agent is the one who will negotiate a contract with Spurs. He’ll get a phone call while he’s on the beach asking if he’s happy or not. If he is, then it’s a private jet to City airport, chauffeur driven Bentley to Spurs Lodge, quick medical, sign the contract and back at the poolside bar in time for evening cocktails.

Yeh that`s the theory Ace, but we all know it aint going to happen. What happened to the other fella we were supposed to be buying, the fella from Portugal, that saga has been rumbling on for weeks, and absolutely nothing has happened.
In fact the transfer market has been remarkably quite.
I know everyone is banging on about him and the money to get him is high, but is he REALLY that good? Can't say I am fully up to speed with him except spurs fans wetting themselves over him.
We are a club who deserve better than the club serve up (results/success wise). The club are lucky to have such loyal fans who follow the team everywhere in huge numbers without winning trophies. No other club in England can say that. Perhaps West Ham come close.
The club simply have no choice now but to buy quality and start showing proper ambition on winning things. If this player is what it takes then fair enough, but I am not as convinced as the rest of you.

OK fair enough. If he is all he's cracked up to be then fair enough.
Latest suggestions are that he has said he prefers to join us rather than United. Great if true.
We have to be realistic, it is only June 17th, so things could well be done by the middle of July hopefully
NDembele is only one player.
Levy has a lot more to be thinking about........
1. Proper backup for Kane - needed given schedule and Kane's injury history.
2. Top RB replacement for Trippier/Aurier.
3. Rose is suspect, can't go full ninety, gets injured. Need really good backup LB. Davies ain't the answer.
4. Eriksen? Go or Stay? New contract?
5. Alderweireld? If he goes, is D Sanchez the answer?
Noting that Vertonghen is 32, there may be a need for two top CBs?
All this carping about NDembele hardly scratches the surface of the personnel problems Levy is facing.
I don't blame him if he takes his time this season!

Exactly equate the revenue from TV and it's all relevant. Money across the game at the highest level has rocketed so transfers were going to no different.
At this stage the fee is almost irrelevant. It boils down to has the player improved you. If he has it was worth it. Spurs are at that level now where you have to be spending 50 plus on top players.
I hope you do and it's a 3 team race all season next year assuming us and city go again.
