Yes he is !.

It looks like its already agreed, the only stumbling block is compensation for backroom staff

It wouldn't surprise me if a Chelsea loanee wouldn't be part of the package, possibly Tomori

All speculation though

Assume you dont want the uncertainty dragged out anymore than us

if compensation fees are required maybe that transfer ban is a stumbling block if there are further stipulations to go with it.

quite possible some very well paid lawyers are going over it with a fine-tooth comb as we speak.

Apparently Derby are stalling until they can get a replacement lined-up?

I understand the lure of managing his beloved club Chelsea must be but if he does decide to go i think it will be a big mistake.both bad for dcfc and chelsea.his team selection at derby through the season cost us at least 12/15 points and team selection also cost the final at wembley so for me he is not good enough for management at that level yet .i want him to stay as I believe he will get us promoted and gain more management skills

"will". "would have? ?? The conditional tense.

Whatever he decides, it needs to be quick, for the sake of both clubs.

Thank god we never beat Villa, otherwise it would be another Jimmy Crankie episode.

Starting to drag out a bit. Not ideal preparation for your pre-season.

Odd thing is that apparently Chelsea have yet to ask Derby for permission to talk to Lampard. Why would that be? No doubt there have been unofficial communications between Lampard and. Chelsea but the lack of a formal approach suggests that one party is not entirely sure about the other, maybe both. Perhaps Lampard is genuinely torn and wanted to have his holiday to have a chance to mull it all over before deciding. Or maybe he is not necessarily Chelsea’s first choice and they are talking to someone else. Benitez? Viera? But there hasn’t been any noise in the media to suggest anyone other than Lampard is likely. It’s all a bit strange though.

And meanwhile we are rudderless which is far from ideal at this juncture. But ate least a few Forest fans are enjoying it, bitter as they are.

Hello all. I'm back after a few weeks of contemplation (having nothing meaningful to post) after the final defeat. Frank isn't ready for Chelsea, not by a long chalk. Don't get me wrong, he had a decent first season as a manager, slightly above expectation in my book, but one decent season with a decent championship club doth not maketh a Chelsea manager. I genuinely believe he needs to get a few more years under his belt, be that with us or another club, to properly prove he has "it". If he turns out to be the real deal (as I do believe he will), the Chelsea job will come around again. Those bleating to the media that "he might not get this chance again", of course he will, Chelsea change their managers like I change my socks. He is a legend at that club, always will be, and rightly so, he COULD also become a legend at derby if he plays his cards right. He has a rapport with our fans that I'm yet to witness at any other club with any other manager, after only 1 season. Chelsea is the obvious, romantic option for the media to latch onto. Derby is the right option for Frank at this current moment in time. He could build a legacy here, then move on to his beloved Chelsea in a few years time after they've sacked another couple of managers and finally be the one to build that dynasty mourinho often spoke of but never delivered. Of course, he could leave us now and go to Chelsea and be an instant success, however, i dont think that would happen, he's still a bit wet behind the ears in management terms, man city and Liverpool are so far ahead of everyone else that there's no chance of competing with them without major squad surgery, which can't happen due to the embargo. Saying that, then, I think it would actually be a very poor decision for him to go there now. They need someone like Benitez right now, previous success at the club despite fan protest, someone who is proven to get the very best out of what he has at his disposal. Note his contract has almost expired. I think we will see him named as manager in the next couple of weeks.

Fin.

Continue drinking.

Harps ... couldn't have put it better myself. I still think he'll go though. More fool him.

Maybe Chelsea want to persuade Lampard to work alongside someone more experienced, at least initially. I can’t see him putting up with that though. There MUST be a sticking point somewhere for it all to have gone so quiet over the last few days. Maybe Lampard is waiting to see if the “new investment” that has been talked about actually materialises before making up his mind.

It was us wot won it first 3R and:

"Derby County have held the Trophy for, as of 11 March 2018, a combined period of 7 years and 10 months, compared to 2 years and 10 months by Nottingham Forest."

So I surmise it's rightful home is PP.

Our financial year ends on June 30th, so I wonder if there's some advantage to Frank staying until July 1st. The FFP rules are now based on loses over 3 seasons, which it why I suspect they've extended the contracts of Butters & Blackman a bit, it must be something to do with year ends & shizz. I'm not clever enough to justify any of this random speculation properly, mind.

posted on 22/6/19

If Derby could receive £4m compensation for loss of manager it must surely be to the benefit of FFP.

posted on 22/6/19

Yes, Ramdini, but it might matter whether it's in one Financial Year or another, is what I'm thinking. Waiting until July 1st moves it from one year to another. We sold the ground this season, so perhaps we want the revenue to fall into the next FY because this one is OK, or summat. Just guessing, because there seems to be no real reason for this delay that I can see; I'd just like it settled, one way or t'other.

posted on 22/6/19

I don’t really see why that would need to delay an approach to Lampard. Part of the compensation package, if that was to happen, could be an agreement to delay the official date to July 1st.

posted on 22/6/19

Sorry, I get you now - you're right, the timing of the approach is irrelevant. I was thinking more about why it's not been settled.

Hi Sheepy, I meant, but omitted, to say £4m in June.
