Well, Newcastle won't be rolling over for Liverpool now.

And have people forgotten about the animositybbetween Rafa and Chelsea before he was Chelsea manager?

Rolling over? Expect you didn't see the last match when we were going for the league.. if there was a time to roll over that was it.

rafa said things about chelsea when he was liverpool's manager that you would expect any opposing manager to say. when he became chelsea manager you would expect that to disappear as he was working his hardest to better the club. some of the fans were detrimental to the work rafa was trying to do.
ive hated some of leeds recent managers but realize that they're trying to help the team and signs saying manager out don't work.

I would say its a decision he made 6 months ago personally. I think he sees that these new owners are not going to be in place and as a result is not willing to risk ashley for another year.

Either that or new owners was mourinho or something silly.

Looks like the new owners aren’t fans. So Rafa’s off to China.

What opposing managers have made similar comments? If it was as commonplace as your post implied, he wouldn’t be seen as such a pantomime villain by many of our supporters. Expecting that animosity to disappear, or his words to be forgotten isn’t going to happen in a sport as tribal as football. There is plenty more legitimate reasons to criticise some of our supporters than the petty feuds which persist between fans and professionals of all clubs.

The situation was not comparable to having a manager you simply don’t like. The atmosphere was already toxic from harshly sacking a club legend so soon after winning the CL. Getting Benitez to succeed him was like pouring petrol onto the fire.

Tbh, the animosity at the beginning is a lot more understandable than that at the end. For all the reasons you state, I can see why it was far from popular. However after some decent results, a very credible 3rd place finish in the league and a Europa Cup win - the vitriol at the end is a little more baffling.

But I didn't really understand it with Sarri either and he did equally well for you.

You must have enjoyed the treatment Moyes got then.

it would be interesting to be able to go back and give moyes lvg's and jose's time and see if there would be any difference. i doubt if there would be besides the fact it might have been less boring.

Well at least Rafa persevered and proved the Chelsea fans wrong..

Whilst Moyes proved everyone bar Fergie right.

Rafa also proved everyone but Liverpool fans right at Real Madrid. Was like Moyes at United.

Ashley will probably go back to an English/British manager. Who on the managerial merry-go-round hasn't had a go there yet? Hughes? Pulis?
