Hope one of the other elements is damn good add ons.

A bit disappointing. I thought the club valued him at £20m??? Our club is such a pushover, they always cave in.

Shame really, would have loved to see him develop here.

Dont think it's best for him career wise either to be honest.

He is far closer to the first team here then he ever will be at spurs

how much of that 8 million will leeds actually ever see and profit from after legal fees etc, seems like a very low amount in 2019 for a young player.

£8.5m
+ add ons
Hopefully a sell on fee clause
Hopefully First choice to loan him

£8m will be needed to just to run the business at breakeven: until we rid the club of 10-plus players we will continue to haemorrhage money away

Hi guys,

Could I get a very honest appraisal of the lad please

Kebablegs

don't see any value in taking him back on loan, he wouldn't be first choice and it's not Leeds job to develop spurs players for them.

Yes sadly Orta handing out three and four contracts like confetti two summers ago is still having an impact.

That better have add ons. We should also.m be allowed to loan a few fringe players.

I think we've done well to get that much for Clarke - he last season he was a bit of a pushover, literally, and I think we can spend that money better. As long as it's not Orta doing the buying. How does that guy keep his job?

Is this confirmed? Or still journo rumours?

Hi guys,

Could I get a very honest appraisal of the lad please
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Raw winger with plenty of potential to become a very good player.
He’s not lightening quick but has very good dribbling and close control which draws defenders into a tackle or scares them into backing off giving him the space to deliver. Intelligent player for his age. Good crosser and scores goals.

Has looked a cut above playing in the u23s where he rinsed teams. When he first got into our team he was like a breath of fresh air full of creation. He subsequently had a medical complaint whilst sat on the bench and was out for a month. After he came back he wasn’t the same player and looked distinctly poor. Leeds stated it was a virus but it wasn’t but it is something that can be managed.

Be very surprised if you don’t loan him out for 2-3 seasons and see how he develops.

On his day he's worth 15 mil, goes past full backs for fun and is so comfortable with the ball at his feet. The cons, he litterally looks shattered and blowing so quickly, even when coming on as a sub. After his virus in Jan, he's look devoid of any quality :/

Cheers mate.

I doubt we’ll loan him though. We will give him this season around the squad to see how he gets on.

When he broke into the team he was a revelation, looked like he would be the next big thing by a country mile.

Quickly went off the boil after he collapsed at a game and was never the same after that.

Has potential but unless he finds his earlier form he could be a waste

MKSpur Lots of us were excited when he first burst into the first team, he notably tore Derby apart in January this year but Derby, despite beating us in the playoffs are not a good side and notably since the viral condition he has looked far from the player he was before it. He has appeared sporadically for the first team and other players from the same U23 squad have looked better.
Kebab states he has looked a cut above for the U23's, I saw his last appearance for them and he looked from that.
If he carries on progressing the way he did up to the Derby game, bargain. If he plays the way he has since Forest, he will get nowhere near your first team and you will have had your bottom spanked.

Cheers guy although spending £8.5m is nothing really.

We spent far more and got duds

Players like cook and Delph just oozed class, and never had doubts about them playing in prem and looking class.

Not the same with Clarke. Not saying he won’t be great, but there huge doubts for me.

Hope he does well, and IF it’s 8.5m, I think we’ve done well to get that, at this moment in time.

Selling him, doesn’t particular upset me.

The fact the club willingly sell another prospect and another owner, who’s not investing enough does upset me

An absolute disgrace, total incompetence again.
By all means sell any player, just make sure you get a half decent fee.
A little tip AR, don’t tell the world we are skint.
At least we can look forward to lots of useless loan deals again.

So true about Cook & Fabian.

Sold Viera last year and spent £10m on two players, plus got some loans in, do the same again and I will be happy providing of course we get the right players in,

He didn’t have a viral condition.

I think Ronnie has done OK in Italy despite a shaky start so I doubt he will ever grace ER again.
Questionable whether we would have done better with him than without last season, I think we would have probably have kicked on and gone up but no way to prove either way. Would have given Bielsa more options and allowed the guys in midfield at least some rest, but if the money wasn't there, it wasn't there.
Sad we had to sell to fund a team that at the end of the day wasn't quite good enough.
