Couldn't find any dog friendly accommodation in Woolacombe.

Found a cracking cottage near Perranporth, so it's all booked.

Thanks for all the advice.

I have fond memories of the Lizard Peninsula and Kynance Cove. Amazing cliff-side scenery.

Perranporth is a bit too big, bit too much litter, never bothered with it personally, as there are numerous better locations along the north coast.
Holywell bay beach lovely, stream for kids, sand dunes, St Pirans pub just off the beach.
Crantock is a stunning beach with the River Gannel running through it, nice little village.
Further north, Padstow, nice but rammed after 11.00am, but some nice places to eat, especially Paul Ainsworths Number 6.
Port Issac is lovely, Michelin star restaurant just by the slip.
Constantine Bay is absolutely stunning, and one of the stand out beachs in Cornwall, great surf, rock pools, the lot.
Down south of Cornwall, is stunning, st ives beaches are all stunners.
Wouldn't spend too much time in Newquay, unless your into stag dos, and burger joints, although the Harbour hotel is nice for an evening meal.

This

ideally there should be a straight motorway from Cumbernauld to the south coast, no turns, bends or any of that nonsense, just runs straight as a arrow with a 200mph speed limit. No slip roads either.

Devon or Cornwall? Go to Devon mate. Queerhoors in Kernow. Best avoided IMHO.

Interesting wee thread.

Glad you got sorted dejazerro.

I'm hopelessly addicted to Scotland, North Spain, & Scandanavia &

tbh would never consider England as a destination in general.

If I was to go it would be to Devonshire or Cornwall.

Cumbria & the Lakes are mental busy & offer 15% of what Scotland does.

Perranporth is a good base - you can hit all of the locations you mentioned from there. Definitely worth getting to Crantock I agree along with Gwithian and absolutely Constantine Bay. Forgotten about that!

Uh oh!!!! Don’t worry mate you won’t regret it, there’s so much to do when you’re down there and Perranporth is a great base. You’ve got a nice beach, dog friendly, cracking pub if you fancy just chilling out for the day. Would definitely recommend getting yourself to St ives and checking out some of the brilliant coast that way

Oh don't get me wrong, Perranporth is lovely.
We stayed in a cracking cottage in Rose, just outside Perranporth, and it is fantastically central for the North coast.
