I don't know why rival fans keep banging on about it. He was given it interim and did well. He'll be a failure or success like every other appointment. And everyone starts somewhere.

In normal circumstances, you'd be right. And that's the thing, we had had the worse number of injuries than any other team in the PL (something that has been a common theme). When you look at our injuries (at separate times we had our midfield out, never having a set CB partnership, attackers out), it all ads up. Its why fitness has been a major issue recognised by the coaches. To put it into context, City had a blip due to their main DM being injured.

I'll add that cost is irrelevant to the point about suffering injuries to such extent. We should have been more ruthless in getting rid of players which are injury prone such as Jones and those who have been in the past few years such as Rojo.

It's like saying United should not be as affected by an injury to Paul Pogba as Spurs would be by an injury to Harry Kane because Kane didn't command a fee.

We hear it a lot, the squad cost fortune so we should be doing better or be able to cope with injuries. Yet we spent that fortune on a pile of injury prone players some of whom are not good at football. In other words yes we know the club have wasted a ton of money in recent years.

Regards Ole, I'm very happy to give him a chance, he's reshaped our transfer policy and it looks as if finally there is some sort of strategy to it. Time will tell how it works, he leaves OT having done nothing more than lay some foundations for the next guy in then he will absolutely have been a success.

In answer to the OP, Ole got the job because it's a poisoned chalice and nobody else wanted it. 🙄👍

OP

What are LVG + Jose, if not top managers?
I know they're questionable these days, but at their peaks they were the best around.

What are we supposed to do, clone Pep or kidnap him, hoping nobody will notice?
