For identifying a top talent while not overpaying.
Very rare today.
Not hard to avoid overpaying when they have a release clause

Atletico were planning to give him a new contract with a higher buyout clause.
He rejected it because of City.
And this is down to the work of Txiki.

the articles not bad apart from the last 3 words which should really be 4
This transfer goes to show that many deals have been delayed to show on the 2019/20 accounts.
Such bitterness, wow. City bought one player last summer and none in January, others are saying Little Fern is getting past it but replacing him seems a crime.
You’ve got one of the few players in the world capable of doing what Fernandinho does, he’s young and unlike Fernan adds some height to the side..good buy.

I don't think anyone's bitter, but praising your DoF for this transfer seems a little silly. It was a formality. He could've been 20m more and it would be a formality. Never seen him play but i'm sure he's decent if he was Pep's first choice.
Height is much needed, pretty much the entire squad apart from the keeper and back 4 are shortarses! Highly skilled shortarses but shortarses. It is why a typical City goal comes from a low ball driven across the 6 yard box.
I’d praise him I think that’s an extremely key position for them sorted out for short and long term

What are you praising him for, exactly? Are we saying he identified Rodri? Surely Pep gets his pick of players.
Well whoever identified him and got the transfer through. It’s a good transfer.
Thank God this saga is at an end, they finally got their man.
Not sure how someone is doing his job is now a point of mockery. United wish they would have Txiki at the helm rather than that galacticock sucking Ed.
People still wound up by City, for spending 70 million euro, yet happy at United for putting in a 70 million pound bid in for Maguire

Not really, Begiristain is very involved in picking them too.

Nobody is wound up about city spending 70 million on a player, no idea where you got that from
Of course everyone is happy that United are spending 70m on harry faaackin Maguire
Well, it was mainly about United fans
Good signing, and needed, though I was impressed by how Gundogan covered the DM position at the end of the season. Now we need another centre half.
