To say Pontus was meant to be such

If Bielsa said 'I have my views on how squad is to play and I felt we could be more effective with a change at the back' I have no problem.

If Bielsa said 'We have to make a team, but we also have to work to finances and this was best solution to address both', I have no problem.

But we hear nothing from Bielsa at this point and, for a man of the people, I think he is getting this wrong.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

If the reason that Jansson has left really is mostly that he was a disruptive influence, then there's no way that Bielsa would stand in front of the press and say that about one of his (ex) players. It's not in his nature to attack his playing staff like that.

I think that in this case, Bielsa's silence on the issue may actually clarify the reason for Pontus going.

Ignore the details, disruptive, FFP, needed cash etc etc

Ultimately, this has created disquiet amongst the fan base, mistrust and consequently disrupts plans.

Club needs to show leadership and that starts with honesty and engagement.

The club is simply not engaging with the fans on this and is misleading the press.

I like Bielsa, but if he felt strongly enough about spygate to put us all through that lengthy presentation, then I feel he should take some time out to understand fans frustrations here and be as straight up as he was about spygate with the fans.

Either he doesnt get that fans are concerned about this.

Or her gets it but doesnt really give a monkeys about the fans.

Or the club have told him to say nothing.

I really feel when we hear all this rhetoric about we have the best fans, the fans are incredible, we're doing this for the fans etc, it rings really hollow, when the club clearly doesn't give a shat about us, otherwise it would take some time out to explain.

Agree jonty

I have no problem at all with selling Pontus (apart from price)

But there just something I don’t trust with this board.

Interesting thought, if we were to approach Brentford and say "look guys we've made a mistake, how much would it cost to buy him back?".
I bet a hell of a lot more than £5.5m plus add ons.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Yep because we’d be approaching a club who didn’t want to sell, so could name their price. We were a club who wanted to sell. Makes a big difference

How is either of the above example statements attacking his ex playing staff?

It's tough because a club statement or Bielsa statement would come across as a dig at Jansson. Hard to word it, they can't come out and say he was disruptive.

But they are obviously drip feeding journalists with this stuff which has the same impact.

Whole thing is a mess and sooner we move on from it with some positive news the better. Not that I'm expecting anything.

Its not hard at all, but club have said literally nothing in public and their statement on Jansson was really poor is real lack of wishing him well.

dont want to end up in a public spat with him particuarly

You were saying that Bielsa ought to tell us why Pontus left.

If the reason that Pontus was shown the door was down to his bad attitude and resistance to Bielsa being the boss, it's no mystery to me why Bielsa hasn't said anything.

He doesn't seem to be the kind to slag off his players (current or ex) or lie about a situation just to placate the press & fans, so his silence on the matter speaks volumes.

For a media mogul he's not seemingly media savvy.

This stuff won't attract players to the club. Anyone with options, like a Cahill, will look at this stuff and think i'll go somewhere less like a basket case.

I seriously wonder if AR is more focussed on flogging us and is leaving the lunatics (VO et al) to run the asylum?

What about the players not looking to leave or who've just arrived. What must they be thinking with so many of the players pivotal to our success last season, being linked with moves away. Can't be helping anyone. How about a statement from the club saying, that's it no more players for sale.

Guesswork guesswork guesswork The only way to stop this is to boycott matches .This owner is all about finances nothing else seems to matter .Its a disgrace how supporters are treated mushrooms comes to mind.He is devious at with Cellino and Bates you knew what you were getting .This man is cuter he pretends he has the clubs best interests at heart but nothing could be further from the truth.

Will be very surprised in Bielsa speaks tonight after the York game, will be left to the coaching staff or maybe Kinnear might even speak on behalf of the club to tell us WTF is going on

No, I was saying that Bielsa needs to communicate with us re the big picture. There is disquiet about selling players, only getting loans in and talk of more players leaving. There is huge support from fans for Bielsa and I think he owes us some communication.

posted on 10/7/19

Bielsa needs to do what he is doing right now. Preparing the players left at the club for an assault on promotion. All efforts should be concentrated on those at the club and getting every percentage out of them.

Don’t remember Ferguson going in to details on why he let several big players go? Decision has been made and we should judge the management on results on the field. Should we fail then bielsa and co can be rightfully criticised but right this second with the squad we have we have a shot at promotion.

Chaps... I get there is a lot of uncertainty.. and loads of negativity but we had all this last year and had a damb good shot at promotion.. we were so close, despite us all thinking we'd really struggle.

Think we maybe as well to have a bit of 'in Leeds United we trust' here?

in effect, we've got Costa, and lost Jansson (totally gutted about Jansson though I must admit)

plus signed some potentially U23 players that we know MB likes to use...

who heard of Clarke last year? for example.

chins up lads... we've got this

You might be the type of bloke to trust a bird, who’s lied and cheated for 15 years pal, but I am not.

This club has shown year in, year out, not to be trusted.

How many of Orta’s U23 signing did MB like to use last season?

Halme who lasted a couple of games and was sold?

Why do people keep defending the club’s policy of signing huge numbers of U23s players that never actually make it, and Orta’s awful track record with signings.

Based on historical evidence the board seen to be naive at best - to trust in them? - Radz and his band have got to do quite a bit more than sell one of our best players on the cheap and being responsible for the on going Saiz fiasco?

posted on 10/7/19

He was a very good player end of, the fee was a joke and we need to replace him with better, that’s the problem for me

you've missed my point mate...

last season we (you mostly) were whining about pretty much everything... but we so nearly got promoted.

I'd suggest last season was out best for 15 - 20 years right?
