It's not like any other country artists hence why everyone is making such a big deal out of it. He's a taken a genre or sound or style and pushed it into a direction that's never been done before.

Exactly what you'd want from all your favourite artists.

I have no interest in this song, and indeed have not even heard it, but music genres only exist to exclude people, so good on him if he's trying to bust stuff up a little.

Gram Parsons didn't die for this

BR Cyrus is a lifelong Democrat and LiL Naz is a black homosexual.

It sure ain't Country.

Seriously I only heard this song cos of Miley Cyrus set at Glastonbury which was IMO the best of a very poor lineup this year. I had hardly heard of her before last week, but she took on Black Dog quite well and even did the Planty hipsways with the mic cord. She seems seems to be a born again dirty rock chick.... which is ok by me. Im sure the youger ones on here will put me right if I am wrong

I listened to it for the first time because of this thread. OK but not my taste. No idea if it's country or not, as I don't like country.

From someone who has almost zero interest in music but listens to the radio in the car I'd say it's definitely a bit country but mostly that standard modern gangster music that's 90% of the pop music on the radio (not sure if gangster is an official genre but that's what I call it)

That's why your music taste is so poor.

He hasnt pushed a genre into a direction it's not been in before, he's just created a song of a different genre that happens to have the word horse in it

If you changed the lyrics of Por Ti Volare to be about guns and drugs, but the music was exactly the same, would it still be classical or would it make it gangster rap/r&b?

Change the lyrics of Rocky Top, Tennessee to Rocky Top, Croydon it doesn't suddenly become grime.

Not heard the song, but I read the furore was that others have done similar before, but those were by country artists.

I can't say how sure I am of that being the case as I don't listen to country and I probably only know one artist. Its pretty naff as a genre.

If they are rapping, it will be rap/classical hybrid. Won't be rnb unless they change the music.
