Tom Lawrence if he can find a way to have a good game at least every other game rather than every 5 games.

No Spart! He's a very poor man's Tom Ince at the very best. No signs of him ever in my opinion of being considered as 50% of what Asanovic was as a player.

I would have Tom Lawrence anyday in preference to Tom Ince. It's because of Ince's attitude which was, I think, "you guys are lucky to have me here, make way all of you'.

Ince is my preferred Tom, despite his perceived arrogance. We got circa £10m for Ince, IIRC - we won't get that for TL, even if he's a nicer bloke. I wanted TL to succeed as much as the next man, but he hasn't. Time to move on, I feel.

I don't think it was arrogance. He didn't have enough ability to be arrogate. It was more like conceit. And with not enough ability to justify it.

Tom Lawrence did enough good things last season. When we get someone better - then it is time to move on.

Tom Ince - 114 games 38 goals
Tom Lawrence - 82 games 13 goals

Ince wins for me. However if Lawrence was to score 26 goals in the next 32 games then I'd have to give him some serious consideration!

If TL scores 15 goals in the next 32 games, I'll show my ar5e in Marks & Sparks window on Church St.

Hello people

McDowell is a very good signing for you guys - when he was at Forest he scored quite a few goals, and most of them were 25 yarders

We wanted him back last season, but he went to Sheffield Utd instead - for what it’s worth, I think he was great for us, and he’s probably evening a better player now

Good, solid signing

That possibly makes a lot of Derby fans wish he doesn't succeed.

No need to limit it to Derby fans, Desi.
I'd say Scouse has achieved the impossible and managed to unite the country

Counter to that goal scoring stat is the fact that Tom Ince had on the dressing room. I think he had a bad effect on the team generally.

New manager, new ideas, we could yet see a different TL this season. I sometimes think we needed a general in midfield to rip his head off every now and then and remind him that the game is going on around him.

Derby county want Danny drinkwater on loan for a yearπŸ‘Œ

posted on 13/7/19

Sounds like Frank is wanting to help us out.

Not sure if Drinkwater would drop down a division. He'd most likely move to a lower half PL side. Additionally we have four players that can play in the DM role. Shinnie, Huddz, Thorne ( whether he's picked is another question) and Evans.

Des ” Huddz Thorne and Evans are not good enough, let’s hope Cocu can see this, I think we also need a centre half with pace, we look very slow with Davies and Keogh at the backπŸ‘Œ

Oh for the days when you could get Dave Mackay or Paul McGrath to do a twilight shift!

Wassa name another Championship central defender faster than Keogh. I remember Keogh beating Vardy to the ball in a chase so he can't be that slow. Davies I agree is slow.

Agreed they're not as good in quality, but it'll be the same mistake all over again. We need to move someone out in a DM position before getting one in. Last season we had a plethora of strikers ( paying a % of their salary whilst on loan elsewhere) which restricted getting quality players in such as Mings for example.

Before getting an expensive loan signing in an over inflated position we definitely need to move a player out.

BJ has gone, Butters looks like he is going, wouldn’t surprise me if Huddz or Thorne go too before the season starts. Remove Mount from the equation too and we are looking very poor in midfield. Drinkwater would definitely be a statement but i would be amazed if he was to drop down to the championship.

But surely Frank would see the possibilities with Derby's infrastructure and the new, experienced Dutch manager and a friendly Mel. I don't think Chelsea or Tomori or Mount regret the Derby loan.

Surely the only thing stopping him playing in the championship would be his ego?

Maybe he still hanks after an international call-up? Can Heb get him Scottish citizenship?
