Do we know what type of contract he's on? Hope the board learned their lesson and have given him a different one to GM.

Another rolling contract. If he's bad he will get the sack. If he is good someone will pinch him. We only get continuity if he is mediocre? It's a plan. Incidentally, Herbie Kane is expected to complete a loan move to a Championship club this week. Brentford, Charlton Athletic and Hull City all want the 20-year-old. Who would have thunk it?

Albie, further to your last post, I would think that your three potential outcomes would still be relevant whether DM had a rolling contract or one of a fixed period, say two years.
When a club of our stature unearths a good player or a good manager there is always the likelihood that bigger, more wealthy clubs, will come calling.
Likewise, one who fails is always likely to get the chop.
Mediocrity?
Well I guess it depends on the owners attitude to that one but invariable too much of it leads to the parting of the ways.

There was a reference to “compensation” paid by Hull when GM left which is a bit puzzling, but I agree with Hound. At almost any level of football managers will move on for better offers, even to clubs like Leeds where most get the sack within months. DM obviously finds the arrangement satisfactory and since more managers fail than succeed why choose the expensive option? If you are not tied as a club to paying off a bad manager you can afford to reward the man in post more generously.
Moved up to just outside the play off places and the season hasnt started yet!
