Shopping for a striker

That was a bit of a surprise. I thought he would look to push in after getting a few run outs later on last season. Shame really as he looked a good finisher, although his attempt to win a penalty against Villa was embarrassing!

Going to have to move quick to get a couple more forwards in. Walker should get a chance over pre season to see if he can make an impact IMO.

Billy Sharp has always been a great Championship/League 1 goal scorer - he’s totally proven at this level

Not sure how he’ll get on in the Prem, but I doubt he’ll want to drop down a League now that he’s made it into the Promised Land - I wish he would have stayed with us - but he wasn’t hanging around once O’Driscoll left

Are Forest really going to let Osborn go? I think they need him now more than ever. There are a hell of a lot of foreign players to integrate into this squad for Lamouchi. If a proportion of them fail to make the grade, he will need established players such as Osborn to help steady the ship. I’m uneasy about this transfer, I think Forest could regret it.

I agree Will, he’s shown over the time we’ve had him, that he’s one of the hardest grafters we have at the club - he may not be the most skilful of technically gifted players, but he’s a bloody hard worker - and that counts for a lot

As you say, we have so many imports, let’s hope to
God they find their feet and can play as a team - so many changes at one go is a huge risk - if it pays off, brilliant, but if it doesn’t we could really do with the likes of Ben Osborn to fall back on

Saying all that, I think he’s been treated quite harshly by a section of supporters, so a chance to play in the Premiership, why wouldn’t he go?

It's fairly obvious from the stories that the NEP are putting out that he's going to be sold, it's only a case of agreeing on a fee.
They could offer him a new contract, but no mention of that.

I too think Forest will regret selling him come Febuary/March time.

I really like Osborn, and though he’s done a much better job than people give him credit for, I can see how a move right now would probably be best for all parties involved.

If we can get 5m+, when he’s only got a year on his contract left, and likely 2nd/3rd choice at both LB and LW then it’s a fair move imo.

Heavy rumours that West Ham have sold Byram for 750k and while the club itself hasn’t been leaked, we are the favourites. It will be announced tomorrow. If he’s heading our way that’s an great signing as any.

Will be sad to see Benny go. However, he’d be 3rd choice at LB and possibly the same on the LW. If it blocks the path of Appiah and he gets a shot in the Prem and we get say 4m, then it’s best for all.

Carvalho and Silva are small in stature. You can’t have a midfield who are all similar heights. That’s why I think Adamoah, Ameobi and Semedo have been brought in, to address the balance.

We will be a big physical team this year.

Some of Osborn’s link up play with Carvalho last year was superb

Bryams gone to Norwich,

For 750k I feel we’ve missed something there but a move to Norwich means he doesn’t drop down a league which is probably sells it

Can’t blame him at all - good luck to the lad

Think he has only played 30 odd games in the last 4 seasons. I know he is decent but it would have been a risky signing

It's not the signing on fee, it's the wages.

Can't blame Ben for taking the cash I suppose, after all by 32 your career is just about over.

And not been under appreciated by the club’s supporters. It’s a win win for Osborn. Wish him the best of luck there, although I suspect they will be straight back down. They had a number of players such as McGoldrick who had proper purple patches and the rest of their careers show that they’re not all that. Unless Sheff Utd make some inspired sigbongs, particularly up front, I foresee a season of struggle for them.

Heard a rumour Jonathan Kodija at Villa May become available...

A real shame we missed out on Byram, we have no chance of the likes of Kodja, he would cost a decent amount, plus good wages. We unfortunately are looking in totally different financial markets, until we off load some of the fringe players or get some money in I doubt very much if we have much if any money to spend. Doesn’t look like we have much chance of Colback either, I actually think Bruce rates him, not surprisingly so he’ll be staying there I guess.

Watched first half on live stream onetv.gr

We look a bit of a shambles to be honest. Shape and discipline is all over the place. But we are playing a very good team (including Bouchilakis).

Only ray of light is Muric who has pulled off three very good saves.

Matty Cash at right back, makes as much sense as Benny at left back.
Zonal marking I have never been a fan of, guess I can see why.
