It does hinder his plans no doubt, spending so much time travelling when they should be doing 5 mile sprints etc. All in the name of 'Brand Exposure'
It's crazy, squad need to spend as much time as possible together training and preparing for Bristol, the trip means they are losing effectively a week of vital time and as there will be a number of important players not going (I read the new additions will not be going) this makes their bonding with the rest of the squad impossible.
Additionally, we should also be looking to strengthen, replacing key personnel, how can any potential incumbents be identified, sold on the idea of coming to Leeds and bedded in with the squad with their team mates and coach half-way around the world.
Madness and more about Radz, his ego and personal wealth than preparing the squad for the new season.
I think Don mentioned this on another thread re Bielsa not being happy and wouldn’t be taking many first team players.
His players being sold with no adequate replacements yet and now disagreeing with those in charge.
He won't be far from the door if it continues in the same vein.
Internationals and new signings not going, he wasn’t going but is showing his face for the Man U game but yes he’s not happy, the trip is all to do with radz tv I believe
I think this is something to do with the Leeds ManU game more than the timing, the fans is Australia will be looking forward to this as much as we would a league or cup game!..
Both clubs have fans outside off England and they want to try and see something of the teams they follow!..
So, when are they coming to Osnabrück?..
Maybe AR should remove his head from his RSE.
If he had any sense he would see that a PL Leeds United would be all the marketing he needed for his TV channel.
But instead he hinders the chances of that happening by these stupidly timed trips which are for his benefit in the main.
I don't have any particular expertise or great understanding of marketing but I do feel it is a vanity project for AR.
we had committed to this game some time before the end of last season but if Bielsa doesn't buy into it and it in any way disrupts his methodical preparation for the season ahead that is a concern at a time when we have lost one key player with potential for more to follow.
I imagine if Bielsa cared that much then he would have objected to it at the time or not agreed to a new deal with the club.
Funny because back in November he said this:
‘Leeds head coach Marcelo Bielsa said he is looking forward to the trip.
“I am pleased that we have been given the opportunity to take the team over to Australia to help us prepare for the 2019/20 season," he said.’

Yeah and I think it’s to open the new 60,000 seater stadium. Bielsa was more than happy to go when it was announced last November otherwise we would have already heard about it..
More click bait crap from reporters who have nothing else to say.

Let’s see who stays and who goes.
I can understand leaving the internationals behind and maybe even the new guys but until the squad is announced it’s all hearsay.

Premier league starts after our season, he was probably expecting to have a bigger gap between Australia and the start of the season.
It might be only a friendly but I'd think top players from both teams would like to play!..
Not sure if that has anything to do with the old rivalry thing or the Roses!..
On second thoughts it cant be either, I mean this generations players know nothing about either!..
So i really am travelling 12000 miles to watch eunan o’kane
Interesting comments from the time the trip was announced. From the LUFC website:
Whites to face Manchester United in July 2019.
Leeds United is pleased to announce the club will be heading to Western Australia as part of next summer’s pre-season schedule.
The entire first-team squad will travel to Perth in July 2019 where they will take on English rivals Manchester United in a friendly match at Optus Stadium. The match is set to take place on Wednesday 17 July, with kick-off details to be confirmed.
The team will also spend time training during the trip ahead of the 2019/20 season with further games to also be announced at a later date.
“The entire first team squad”
Should be an interesting couple of days then
