I don’t think it’s a case of us wanting to cash in but him not wanting to sign a new deal.

3 years ago we offered him a contract and he refused. I think he thought someone big would’ve come in for him last summer but they didn’t.

My guess he’ll go back to Ajax on a free next summer

The confusing bit is that says Roma will pay him €3,500,000 with additional bonuses a year. That roughly works out around €67k a week before the possible bonuses.

With him apparently wanting £150,000 a week plus as was rumoured previously. This makes no sense.

None of this Roma stuff makes sense. They can’t offer him better than what he’s got at spurs - wages, club status, CL football. The problem is we don’t think Spurs are offering him a new deal.

Would be truly shocked if he did sign for Roma with no one else going for him. He is still class. Even Arsenal with the Koscielny shenanigans would be bonkers not to even ask about him. Man U they want Maguire as he is younger fair enough. But Toby can still do it for a couple of years surely?? Imagine him alongside VVD. That would be a class partnership.
