Who would sign a contract that lowers their wages a few months later?

Hypothetically, during the signing of a player, I can see a scenario where the club puts in a disclaimer in case of hard Brexit and the impact of such, not to lower the wage - that was just trying to get a conversation going, but the clubs could say they would need to review their players contracts?

Maybe I am reading too much into such things, but I am sure football on the whole will be impacted, and I wonder if the lack of sustained activities in the market stems from club trying to gauge the actual impacts of signing.

I don't know for sure, I am just bringing it out there?

Slightly related is the exchange rate issues.

2 years ago you could get 1.4 euro to the GBP. Now its 1.1.

So buying a player for 28m Euro back then cost £20m, whereas now its £25.5m, and any payments paid over time will be affected by this too.

Brexit might well see the pound fall to 1:1 with the Euro, making foreign players more expensive and devaluing their wages relative to current european wages.

The type of things I was trying - but poorly to allude to

Surely, a well run club, like Spurs for example, with a chairman who has his fingers on everything that affects the club financially, it is possible Levy is not looking only at the current market value of the potential linked player but also the value of the player after 31st Oct?

Any player wearing the number 8 shirt should retire it immediately in memory of the late Jimmy Greaves

I know this is a joke on morespurs but I think it's time to stop it, I find it quite sick you mocking a legend that has had a near fatal stroke and in a wheelchair but still alive.

Yes, and he was taken to hospital when I was going abroad and I genuinely was told he died, so of course, the guy is a legend, one of the best strikers ever, and I wrote something truly believing he did pass away.

And yet more than 3 years later, cretins like Tomkins use that reference?
It's so boring

calm down you precious little thing

Well it will have an impact as Britain will become a deeply unattractive place to live and work, and I can envisage a ton of visa/work permit issues, getting their families over to live, the increased racist abuse at games, the worthless £ ect ect.

And isn’t it interesting that the more talented, younger, urbane managers like Poch & Klopp are massively anti Brexit, and the mediocre old Gammon like Fat Sam and Warnock are for it?!!

Speaks volumes.....
