Great effort by Stokes this session to be fair

‘When we woke up and there wasn't a cloud in the sky it looked like a batting day. We didn't do too much, just put the ball in the right areas and we took our chances. We had a bit of luck’

You don’t need helpful bowling conditions to bowl this England side out. We’ve collapsed numerous times in this series in good batting conditions.

Mentally weak batting line up. This needs some serious coaching because some of those players have the ability to make runs.

Well that was the worst day of test cricket by an England side I can remember. All out for 68 with terrible dismissals, dropped catches, sloppy fielding. Almost certainly the ashes are over now.

People need to be held accountable tor today.

Do we have a chance?

Aus 283 ahead with 4 wickets left. Perhaps if we’re chasing less than 330, can we do it ?

Not with this batting line up against the quality of Australias bowling. Would take a monumental innings by root and backup by the other batters.

About as much chance of Palmers getting Margot Robbie into bed tonight as our batsman chasing a target over 300.

200 scores in 4th in ings are rare enough, a 300 score and the chances are pretty much nill, against a weak bowling attack maybe but cant see how eng score that many against those bowlers

This England team reminds me of the old Spurs.

Root and Stokes fine can be left in and play all 3 formats but Roy, Bairstow, Buttler all arent test players.

Burns

Root

Stokes
Foakes
Archer
Broad
Leach
Anderson

Back to what we all knew was needed for years, 3 specialist test batsmen.

Stokes will take over the captaincy after this failure.

What did the old Spurs do that the current one doesn't....

Going to be a short & embarrassing day today....thank fack footy's on

They will show some fight with the batting when its englands turn. Until about 100-2 then they will collapse 190 all out.. Seen it all the time.. Nothing changes.

posted 3 weeks, 4 days ago

I would give the players the rest of the ashes. If none of the players barring Root and Stokes don't get any 100s in the remaining tests. I would ditch them.
No point in giving the likes of Roy Denly Buttler any more chances. time to move on. and Woakes is playing for his career as well.
His record is terrible away from home and against bigger teams.

its not a matter of panicking its matter of doing whats right.

AND PS Michael Vaughan gets on my wick.. Now hes claiming England haven't prepared properly for the Ashes.
Why doesn't he or anyone else just admit the truth?the England batsmen are just not good enough
I will just point to the test standings.England are 6th aint they?
This is just not preparing for the ashes. This as been going on for a few YEARS. be damn honest.
Stop protecting flops. There is no room for sentiment.

Do agree but Vaughn does have a point. Last few ashes series have been straight after a World Cup - could have scheduled it a lot better. Money talks for the ecb as all boards

Must admit it felt like a watershed moment yesterday given the reaction. It's one thing to collapse against NZ and WI in away series, but to collapse like that in a home Ashes series that all but surrenders the urn is next level.

One thing that really annoyed me yesterday too was Thorpe echoing Bayliss' comments from earlier in the week that these are the best batsman currently available. I know you can't publicly come out and slate the players midway through the game, but don't try and lie to us that there's no one better than this bunch. Denly is one of the top 7 batsman? Roy is the 2nd best opener despite never opening the batting? Really?

Can't imagine it gives the likes of Sibley and Northeast much confidence either when they hear those comments.

World Cup need to be held again.Without collusion from India and Umpires mistakes, England would not have won. Additionally, international cricket cannot tolerate such level of disparity between test cricket and odi cricket where World champs become pushovers in men's game

Just seen India win the disability world cup against England.
PTID will now claim that the India team wasnt really disabled and cheated in winning.

Like us getting lucky in the CWC with the umpire giving us 5 runs instead of 4?
