Watched the game. I thought you guys did alright. Well organised. I don't imagine you will be playing many games like that in the Championship though so hard to take much from it.
We looked good against Raith but face a much tougher task on Wednesday as we travel to Cove. They are favourites for the title this season as the other Rangers were when they first entered Scottish football. I can see Cove progressing up the leagues quicker than their Glasgow counterparts though.
Yeah it was a decent start. And as you say, probably the best team we'll play this season (depending on cup draws) so I'm not reading too much into it.
I take it you were at the game at the weekend? Any of the new players stand out?
I was not able to attend in the end. I got the extended highlights though. The team just look so good that there are no stand out players at the moment. I expected more red cards in your game as both teams are quite dirty. I imagine this season will be a case of beauty against the beast in The Championship.
Didn’t see the match but listened to it on the radio. Hoping that against teams who aren’t as strong as Hearts we really go for it even when we’re a goal up, defending a one goal lead cost us a few times last season (and it’s awful to watch!) Loads of people seem to be writing Sporle off, it was his first game! Not like Arabs to be negative...!

I think it was a tough match to throw Sporle into. I'm sure he'll improve as the season goes on.
I would like to see us play a more offensive game and I think there will be more pressure on Neilson to do so as the season goes on. But Neilson for me is the best man for the job and I think some of the criticism he's already receiving is well wide of the mark, particularly when you look at who the alternatives would be.

Yes I agree. I’m actually really looking forward to this season (will I ever learn?) - a couple of new faces rather than 47 like the last few years, derbies, trips to Arbroath, a good vibe about the club - I’ve been impressed with the job the media team has been doing. Bring it on. The only disaster for me personally is that I can’t go to the first derby! I’m doing a show that week, as soon as the fixtures were released I knew that that one would be changed to the Friday night Flipping raging!
Only saw the second half of your game. Didn’t think it was a great game. Hearts looked the better team, but you had a couple of really good chances.
Yeah i'm looking forward to it too. Strangely positive about it all and worryingly confident we'll win the league.
It's going to end in tears isn't it?

I am looking forward to the derbies as well. There will be a completely different feel to them than in recent years when at least one (usually both) teams have been utter garbage and are trying not to get relegated.
It will be exciting to see both teams confident and going for the win instead of just seeing who can be the least shiiiite. I can see them being fiesty!

Nah Ivan, its your to throw away, anyone know what odds on a Celtic/D Utd double both to win their respective leagues?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I would assume relatively short?
We're around 9/4 to win the Championship, with Dundee at 4/1 and Partick at 5/1. Inverness are out at 8/1 and might be a decent outside bet.

You would have to fancy Falkirk to win their division as well. They are staying full time and as limited as someone like Conor Sammon is - he should still score a lot of goals at that level.
I would not fancy that Celtic/Dundee Utd double.
I just think Rangers are too strong this year and Celtic have gone backwards.

I think shankland coming in and scoring straight away will be significant.
United have to be favourites. Looking forward to a few trips to tannadice

In Scotland, my picks would be:
Celtic
United
Falkirk
Edinburgh
The only tricky one was Edinburgh - Cove are getting a lot of money on them and may well be very strong.

If anyone can be ersed, could someone work out the odds on that wee bet above, no access to betting sites at work. What would £20 get me if it came in.

About £22.40

No way will United win the league under Neilson. The guy was a fluke wi Hearts. Found oot at MK Dons. Absolute garbage at United. Needs to get shot of the two defensive midfielders. Needs a winger that can cross a ball. Needs a two-pronged strike force.
Better if we just got shot of him altogether.
