I think it would be funnier to enable him to comment on articles but have the OP delete all of our comments leaving just his ramblings there. All we'd need to do is post a really short word which could be instantly deleted. It'd drive him mad!
He had a point in that article to be fair. The comments about the player's name were a bit like "Really?" Dunno whether I'd call that racism or even offensive but kind of unnecessary.

Had he said something like "C'mon guys. This is 2019. We shouldn't assume in this day and age every Irish person is called Paddy O'Murphy" then I could have seen where he was coming from. He didn't though and made the leap from someone questioning nationality based on name to racism instantly.

Sure, have to agree with that. Just wish someone stuck up for him and argued his viewpoint in a less confrontational way rather than it just being everyone laying into him because he probably wouldn't have been banned if that had happened.
Wahl. I did say that I found it tiresome being called a sheep botherer' because of where I'm from but that I didn't believe it was racist.
Anyway, he knew what he was doing. It's a shame because, at times, there were some sensible comments from him but he couldn't help himself most of the time from goading and looking for a negative response.

Kind of agree. His points are sometimes not as bizarre as people think and I do genuinely believe people misunderstand what he’s trying to say quite often. Unfortunately, he doesn’t really pick up on their misunderstanding and make his point clearer, just asks questions or tries to solve it with a cryptic one-liner.
As has been said above, there was a glimmer of truth in his point yesterday - that in today’s world, making assumptions about nationality based on “foreign” or “exotic” names can come across the wrong way, whether done in jest or not. A couple of people thought he was stating that the joke was offensive to the Irish - I don’t think that was his point, but I don’t recall his trying to clear that up, so he ended up in more than one argument.
