Spurs wouldn't sell to us, it'd be a waste of time
I think you could get both of them in but either way would be a good signing.
I'd like Liverpool to make a bid on Eriksen in fact.
He is a cracking player and I wouldn't be against signing him, but with the price Spurs would demand, are we not better off getting Fernandes who is 3 years younger? I would imagine the fees will be around the same.
Would you swap for Martial?

I'll be very happy if we get Fernades... But it's a big step up from the Portuguese League. Erikson would ease straight into the team. 27 isn't particularly old either.
Fernandes should be a priority signing whether Pogba stays or goes.
If Pogba goes, he needs replacing. Eriksen is a fantastic player. A cheaper and more long term option would be Donny van de Beek, who I rate very highly.
Why do we need a cheaper option? We just need the best option.
He could be another Modric "what could have been" (in terms of impact, not position)
Levy wouldn’t sell to us.
I cant see Levy letting him go on afree though and he can sign for other clubs in January.

Because I can't see Levy selling to us so going for a less established by very, very talented player who would cost less seems a good alternative.
I also just really like van de Beek! :D
Eriksen is someone we should have probably signed 4 years ago.
I would worry for our midfield if it had Pogba Eriksen and Matic in it.
Only one way to find out if Levy will sell. £70m or lose him on a free... No brainer.
Either/or I think with Pogba and Eriksen.
Can’t see them both in the side unless we were going to play with a diamond every week.

Eriksen, while no Usain Bolt, is no plodder... He is well versed in the pressing game and gets about the pitch a lot.
Matic could certainly be an issue though, in that three
I would imagine the club would have enquired about Eriksen but we’ve been told no. Eriksen might still sign a new contract anyway if Madrid don’t go for him. I doubt the player would be too interested either.

The one caveat there is that Eriksen is reaching the age where his next contract is likely to be the biggest pay-day of his career. His agent has probably made him well aware of this context and of his options to maximise it.
Yes, let's see...Eriksen said he wants a new challenger and signs for 6th placed United
Plus a club that has the biggest ego in the game in Pogba, God know what's it like in that dressing room
Doubt Eriksen would want to go to a united. He wants to go to Madrid/Barca. I think if that doesn't happen he will probably sign a new contract. He is 27 and I don't think he would go to a club without champions league when he has it at spurs.
If Utd offered him £300k a week Im sure it would interest him.
Depends what Eriksen's real motivation is ? If, as most of us suspect, its money then you have a shot but he's made it pretty clear he wants to go to Madrid, wants CL football and wants a step up from Spurs (which right now, United are not)
While I suspect Levy would sell him to Madrid or at least get some thing in return I cant see him doing a deal with United and certainly not at 70mln. Eriksen has already said, if its not gonna be a step up from Spurs he'd be happy to stay and sign a new contract. I think you're far more likely to get Fernandes than Eriksen
Ole may well favour a diamond formation, which contributed to some of our best football.
---------Matic
--Fernandes--McTominay
--------Erikson----------
--Rashford--Martial
For a 4-3-3 type formation;
------------Matic
----Fernandes--McTominay
Eriskon----------------Martial
-----------Rashford
We aren't getting Erikson. But at 27, PL proven, one year on his deal, I think we should be in for him.
RR, that may be true, but I just think there are too many hurdles to overcome for Eriksen to be a realistic option.
Matic and Maguire in the same team. That’ll be fun to watch.

All you need then is to keep Lukaku and you'd have real plodders throughout the spine of your team.
Cant believe United haven't Taken the option on Toby A... He's exactly what you need for a couple of years.. Proper defender, proper leader, proper organizer

Agreed. I think that the Fernandes deal makes more sense if we can make it happen. At the moment a move to United is sideways at best and his only motivation for the move would be money. We have seen with Di Maria what can happen when a player is looking to move elsewhere, but instead joints United as a second option with money being the motivation. Probably best all round that he stayed at Spurs, if we doesn't join Real.
