The negativity is because he's a mediocre defender who is not worth 60 million. I would rather play kids than sign him.

A year and a half ago. De Ligt is going for £65m. So I wouldn't say prices have sky-rocketted since then, only that you're paying some English tax on top of the ridiculous fee for Maguire.

Agreed.
He would improve us no end I think.
Some people seem to be happy slating Maguire, and going into the season with Rojo, Jones, Bailly and an untested Tuanzebe as some of our main options.
It’s no wonder we shipped 54 goals last year.
