Player was going nowhere, doing nothing Shaun, I will be livid if he does similar in the league.

He does do that in the league. I didnt watch the game, just going on comments about the first half that I had heard.

The match I saw showed us to be no different from the end of last season.
Bamford can't score, but also has a poor touch most of the time, so attacks break down if he's involved.
Cooper. Superb defender, but has taken one too many knocks to the head I think.
Until our defence can cope with pace, we're not going to keep clean sheets.
We need to start the next season with Roofe up top and Bamford on the bench to be used on those occasions when things aren't happening up front for us and we need to shake things up.

I agree about Bamford. Roofe up top, Costa on right flank and Bamford on bench

Dallas was in for Ayling? Was Ayling injured?

posted on 17/7/19

Jonty, don’t think Ayling went to Oz as he picked up an injury in training at TA.

Can't balme jet lag ! So Man Uited players must have flow the space shuttle to Aussie land. All of them suffered from jet lag. We're just not good enough, full stop.

Its odd that nobody has mentioned that the only way we could match ManU is by having players earning the same as theirs do!..

They are a complete top of the leagues team playing in Europe and sometimes even winning things!..

Their reserve players earn more than our players would love to earn, sometimes a little old Leeds United might be able to beat them, but not every time!..

The only way we'll be able to match teams like them is by being in the Premiership and bringing in the caliber off players they have, until that happens we'll see what we saw today!..

I don't think there are to many off you's that waited for anything else to happen then what did, so, it'll go down as a test against a stronger team that we lost!..

Good experience for the players to get a chance to play such a team in front off so many, and that includes the youngsters that got a chance!..

Castro I haven’t really followed it down there it’s a farce.

Man U arrived some days before Leeds, it’s a big factor.

I think their commentator's even talked about it saying that Leeds weren't there that long and it must have an affect!..

They said something about Bielsa not being happy with the tour!..

If we don't add quality to last seasons 1st team squad, then we will not improve & 1 player is not going to cut it.

one genuinely wonders what Bielsa has been promised.

You were playing a top 6 team, runners up the season before in the prem who could field two teams in the same match who would win the championship.
Considering you only travelled with 16 players and Bielsa wasn’t happy about even being there I thought you did well first half, it’s a huge step up to the prem and my United have got an awful lot to prove this year so they were always going to be up for this so don’t know why anyone should read anything into it other it’s better than say playing Rotherham in a friendly as experience for your players, it was full house real occasion and should make them hungry for more

Franko, it’s a pointless exercise for us. Bielsa obsessive about detail and teasing loses half his squad to a long winded trip against a team of far higher calibre, none of it really helps, except to promote the brand should the owner wish to sell.

Our season starts in just over 2 weeks and after getting back from aus they then go in another trip to Calgiari, another time zone another 10 hours round trip of travel.

And with all due respect we’ve had full houses all season and amazing atmospheres if players aren’t up for that alreadybthey shouldn’t be playing football.

Listen Jonty would love you guys back in the prem, proper rivalry and a real game even the prem has too many nothing games but you would never put our match in that category, some tasty tackles in that match for a friendly, bring it on and get promoted.

Understand in some ways it’s a pointless match but in another it shows you belong in the big time for the interest generated which is what I was meaning for your players

Yeah I’d like the matches too and didn’t mean that disrespectfully just that we’ve had our big matches for our division the players know what they have at Leeds.

The stadium and set up were immense. Was set up like a European cup final, just a shame it was a below par performance and set up from us. I'd love us to feature in more games like this

We don’t belong in the PL
We are the PL
Nasty rivalries
We are the champions at being nasty.
The PL is rubbish without us
But the football league benefits immensely

What I'm disappointed about.

These two matches down here were heavily promoted resulting in people flying in from all parts and we bring a squad of 16 missing some key players, arrive a couple of days pre game whereas MU bring a squad of 26 and have played 1 game previously and have been here for over a week.

The manager clearly didn't want to come

Was on free to air TV in Aus and people are thinking wowee Leeds are crap

As a fan living here I'm pretty disappointed by that.

Credit to the players as they took it seriously and all things considered they did ok

PS: If we don't buy a decent defender we wont be going anywhere this seasn

If you look at it for football reasons it makes no sense.

If you look at it as a chance to show a potential buyer, look how big the brand is and how the fans will pay to follow the club, it makes perfect sense.

Result is immaterial, demonstration of fan loyalty and spend was key.

Also, why would head of commercial partnerships be going on Pre season tour, this was all about business not preparing players.

Nothing game, predictable outcome. We beat Tadcaster so all is good in the Leeds United garden.
