Mino Raiola, you beauty!

What personal attributes does he have, or not have, which make him a tw@t?

-----------------------------

Gobbing off to the press about his clients, its unprofessional and I imagine it has rubbed clubs/people up the wrong way.

Jorge Mendes is a 'super agent' who appears to conduct his business privately and professionally for example. Fair play to him for having a large portfolio of top players and getting the most for them.

Can't blame players for hiring Raiola when he has a record of getting such good deals for them. His popularity is only going to grow.

He falls into the same category as Solicitors and Estate Agents, middle men who make a killing out of other people’s business transactions or purchases
To people in his own line of work he probably is seen as a very successful and clever man but to the vast majority of everyday people he’ll be held in contempt for being the parasite he is who’s MAIN aim is feathering his own nest

That's the style of work which is getting his clients the moves and salaries they get. You don't get to where he is and negotiate those deals by simply being nice.

I agree, players should be paying for their own agents out of their own pockets.

When I was playing and recording in a band we always had to pay the agent/manager out of our own royalty earnings/label advances.

I am sure Juve supporters will love him to bits until De Ligt is two years into his contract and the fat goes to the tabloids pushing for a move to Madrid.

I read a report saying that De Ligt will have a release clause at around £130m. Almost inevitable.

He's a horrible individual (in football terms) because his "job" is not just to look after the players, his clients, but to also screw the clubs for huge amounts for himself, I get it everybody will have their own views on him and what he does but he, each to their own but imo him and his ilk are not needed in football and is simply a part of the sketchy side of the sport we all love that ONLY concerns itself with profit/cash

We will see if the Juve fans are chanting his name in a couple of years time when hes in the press claiming his client is unhappy and fancies a new challenge..!!

His latest coup is landing a 19-year-old defender with one good season under his belt a deal that could reportedly be worth up to €460,000 (c. (£420,000) a week
--------------------------
So him and Ramsey, neither of whom have achieved anything in the game whatsoever, are on a combined £820k a week??

Dangerous game Juve are playing there.

VC, I'm pretty sure they know Raiola has been instrumental in their signing him and that they've fought off none other than PSG, for whom wages were probably no issue whatsoever.

Also, I'm not that sure he'll move on so quickly, especially not if he settles in Italy, and I'd be surprised if he went to Madrid of all places. His wages are pretty prohibitive for all but one or two teams, and it would be pretty out of character for Madrid to fork them out on a defender.

That aside, Juve have done superbly well out of Raiola in the past. Nedved became a club legend for them. Ibrahimovic proved to be a stellar signing (who only and understandably found a way out after Juve were relegated). They got the best out of, and made a small fortune on Pogba.

How do Juve afford this.

I year ago they showed a 20m euro loss and have subsequently signed Ronaldo for 100m + massive wages, Ramsey has gone for free but on 400k a week and now De Ligt for 70m + massive wages.

Did i miss something. Have they sold anyone to off set this?

They've sold about £200m worth of players last summer and this summer.

Football has created an environment where people like Raiola can thrive. He must be great for the players in getting them the best deals. Also, to be honest, I don't think United fans can complain too much either as we used him to sign Pogba.

If I could change one thing it would be that the players should be responsible for paying the agent fees. However, whilst clubs continue to use them to facilitate transfers, that won't happen.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

That jonathan Barnett bloke ain't too shabby either.

But why is it all these top agents have to look like they've been plucked out of a mobster movie?

You wouldn't have to change a single hair on their heads to cast Raiola as a mafia boss, Barnett as some East London ganglord, or Mendes as a suave cocaine narco.

Simeone would be Mendes' hit man, of course.

Aidy Ward could play some 2nd rate hoodlum, trying to get in with the big boys. 😁👍

How is the game ruined and how have agents done this?

Football agents have created the conditions they're thriving in about as much as mosquitos have created the climactic conditions that are allowing them to spread to areas they were previously unable to inhabit.
