Concern for me is that I don’t see who in our current squad improves it.

Smalling over Tuanzebe. Based on preseason I’d look at Gomes over Lingard, because he offers something we don’t have.

Matic is the week link but I’m not convinced McTominay or Fred are any better, albeit personally I’d put McTominay in over Matic if only for the legs.

McT is better suited to the role of the DM than Matic. He is more mobile.

Depends on the opposition and the game plan.

You’re right against Pogba and Matic in a two man midfield though. It’s just utter madness.

If it’s going to be a narrow diamond, I’m not as concerned about it. But if it’s a 4-2-3-1, it’s just complete nonsense.

One thing we totally agree on.

Pogba needs to be in the three not the two. Stop trying to mold him into something he isn't.

Or simply don't play this formation we don't have the players for.
