Insanity to suggest De Gea wouldn’t thrive at Liverpool or City.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
City rely heavily on Edersons distribution, they'd lose much of that with DDG and would be a worse side for it

To a lesser degree he'd have the same issues at Liverpool
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Modern football unfortunately
Fans are brainwashed into thinking if they’re better with their feet then they are a better goal keeper
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It would be similar to a side being built around Ibrahimovic up front and another side being built around Gary Lineker (hopefully this makes sense, I'm sure there's better options but anyway...) - one being a big and technical target man, the other playing off the shoulder.

Both great strikers, both will score plenty of goals but the set ups to get the best out of either and for either to give their best to the team means settings up very differently.

DDG would not work at City, he's missing one of the most important qualities their set up requires from a goal keeper
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Tbh edersons kicking is insane. Better than allissons too in my view. Degea is exceptional but his footwork, although not bad isn't as good as allissons and Def not as good as edersons.
All 3 look exceptional. Oblak is the only top 5 keeper I'd say who isn't in the prem.

People believe far too much what they read and here in a 2 minute bit of punditry.

The truth is we don’t know how DDG would perform in Pep’s team.

Currently he’s got Young, Smalling and Jones in front of him. Playing out from the back isn’t really an option and to judge him on the basis of that is not fair.

Quality keeper and any side in the world would want him, I’m sure.

Good post though.

I wonder if it’s too much time using computers and not enough time reading books.

I frequently find myself struggling to think of an appropriate word as well - my brain is slowly disintegrating!

In your case it’s ‘words’. The ones you are looking for are: “no you make a good point, now I will NOT argue against it for another 300 pages’.

do have a point on books though.

When was his current contract due to end?

Oh come on, you know I’m the person here to male a good point.

Okay, maybe Melton as well.

I definitely get the word thing. And it can last an embarrassing amount of time.

Not only can I not remember the word I had in mind, I can't think of a synonym due to the void left by the desired word's absence.

At 37 I put it down to age; but you're probably correct.

It’s the crack.

I’m only a year younger and I really hope it’s not age!

Although my short term memory is so bad I think I’m a shoe in for problems when I’m older!

I'm 37 and get that with words increasingly often too.

Couple of things that I've done this week that are more worrying though. Last night I made a cup of tea, put the tea in the fridge and sat in front of the tv with a pint of milk before I'd realised. On Friday, I was walking out to the bin with a bag of rubbish and was then going to drive to pick up my kids from school. On the way, I took my car keys out and went to remote unlock the bin with them...

Making me feel better here Melton!

As JA606 ages I think we need a ‘losing my mind’ board for me, you and whoever else wants to join.

Both of them I was just in complete autopilot and not thinking what I was actually doing! The bin one, I’ve got a new car where it’s got an automatic boot on it and I pressed it in the momentary thought that the bin was the boot and expected the lid to slowly rise...

I think I’ve said too much already...!

Haha don’t worry, do plenty of that myself.

Technology has a lot to answer for!

Thanks for your honesty.

Not me. At 61, all the dumbest mistakes are behind me. Doesn't stop me having the odd senior moment, though.

That board already exists.

It’s just that everyone who wants to use it has forgotten where it is.
