Yep I was disappointed to hear that he was boo'd by some of our fans. If the rest of the players gave as much as him we'd easily have made top 4 last season.

Stay classy Asian United fans.

It's a shame.

People forget he was on good form before it nosedive at the end of last season. He's at an age where playing that role (our RB was pretty much left to deal with the whole of the right side) with intensity would cause a burnout. We needed options.

I also don't know why he's still considered a winger. He's not played as one for a few seasons. Players do change positions. When Lahm was converted to a CM, no one called him a converted FB playing CM.

Good professional and it isn't his fault the club gave him a new contract.

Let's just hope his role is listed to cup games against smaller sides this season.

We sh never boo our own, with the only exception being a player who doesn't care or try.

I would never boo Young. Don't rate him at all however he has been a good servant at United.

However is this any different to the idiots on the match threads constantly whinging and whining about him and other players.
Is it different from the people on social media slagging him off and abusing him?
They just happen to pay their money and voice their opinion.
I have heard lads in the Stretford end shouting out at our own players on many ocassion.
I have only ever booed one united player and that was Fellaini when he came on I think it was against Spurs from memory. Am I proud of it, not really. I acted on pure emotion and frustration at the time. I tend to just not applaud or chant the players name etc when I am not a fan. Hell i don't even boo Lingard and I really don't like the lad from what I have seen

Players have been booed at OT. Not very often however it has happened. Not like yesterday mind

More than anything else nothing positive comes from booing your own players - so what’s the fecking point.

It’s disrespectful and counterproductive.

Shouldn’t really ever happen, and certainly shouldn’t to a player who has always demonstrated a commitment to the club.

Seems like a minority of fans imo and he won’t be treated like that at OT.

I checked out the FTD vids after the match and the lads interviewed were all appalled at the abuse Young received. It was most likely foreign fans trying to be "edgy". I give Young a lot of credit for stepping up big for the badge when called upon to learn a new position and he did fill the role to the very best of his ability. People were just being k@nts.

It was really strange. He played brilliantly against Leeds - he was the best player on the pitch first half. Then came on and did a good job against Inter.

He’s going to be backup this season, and he’ll be a very useful one. He’s versatile, hardworking, experienced, decent with the ball, and will happily sit on the bench without complaining.

I’ve said before - pros like him are good to have around the place when you’re putting faith in youth and as long as he’s not on that first team sheet of the season, I’m happy for a guy like to have one more contract.

Young can teach the kids how to act like a Manchester United player.
