Great news

Thought he'd only agreed it?

If he'd actually signed it would be on the website which it's not as yet.

Hopefully see him sat behind a desk with Marina before the weekend!

You’re right Brummie - he’s agreed to the deal, and is set to sign before the season starts:

Massive news once official, with hazard going this was the most important thing we had to do. The reported 180000 a week is big money for a kid with half a season behind him but if he reaches his potential it's more than worth it.

£100k p/w is the price you pay when the manager (Sarri) has failed to act and develop accordingly, knowing full well the players contract situation.
Also, if I'm not mistaken the bid of £35m and 85k p/w wages from Bayern was a record at the time for 18-year old and intent to offer him a immediate viable pathway, so wages fully justified on that basis.

Cal & entourage have played a blinder. Fair play
Kudos to Frank for giving Cal all the belief, encouragement and assurances that he needed (understands how crucial it is to keep our standout prospects at the club)

I agree with everything you said Chelseamf, except this "the manager (Sarri) has failed to act and develop accordingly." It wasn't Sarri's fault that CHO had run down his contract - and to me it seemed that Sarri gave him more first team game time than any 18 year old could reasonably expect.

It could be argued that Conte and Mourinho before him were afraid to use the kids in the first team - but I don't think that's a fair accusation to level at Sarri. Also, as much credit as Lampard deserves for believing in youth - it was kind of forced on him due to the transfer ban.

If this was all part of a brilliant grand scheme between CHO and his agent to get more money - then he is some kind of machiavellian genius. Good for him. Now he has to prove it on the pitch.

i think bayerns plan was to have him for a few years then would sell back to prem for a massive profit

Bayern weren't daft, they knew they'd have a £100m rated player on their hands in a few years if he developed to his potential.

Win win for them, if they could have pulled it off. They can hopefully take their greedy mitts elsewhere now!

I reckon Sarri did well with him. I think he must have had a go at him for being disrespectful to the club, and at the same time did give him a fair amount of playing time for an 18yr. old

No it's the price you pay when a player leverages interest from other clubs knowing his contractual circumstances, in no way shape or form is that Sarri's fault - if you wanna assign blame to anyone it's the club for not tying him down to a longer deal on modest wages before he had that leverage to exercise.

Gotta admire CHO as a professional here. He, like the rest of the squad, must've known Hazard was going long before it was made public, and rumblings of the transfer ban were evident right at the start of last season. He assessed the circumstances and knew he'd be in the position of negotiating power this summer. Fair play

The biggest immediate benefit to Frank and Jody was, as we all expected, the youth commiting to us for the long haul

So far so good
